I've been flying bugsmashers (lighties) for about 9 years on and off when I can afford it. I have 130 hours on C150/152, PA28 Warrior/Archer/Arrow, 8KCAB Decathlon aerobatic a/c, & Cirrus SR20 glass cockpit a/c. Of that time approx half of that is pilot-in-command time. I have also got a few hundred hours of flying from the right seat with mates doing their CPL hours building flying around Eastern Australia.

Couldn't tell how many landings and t/o I've done, but in my early stages of flying I was known on a couple of occasions to get 2 or 3 extra landings for free. The most embarrassing one was on my second solo flight in a C150 at YSBK (Bankstown, Australia) where I kangaroo hopped down the rwy 3 times right in front of my instructor who was chatting to several engineers that worked on the Super Constellation that was based there at the time, and was about to line up on the runway behind me to depart. Needless to say the engineers laughed their tits off, and my instructor gave me a filthy look of disgust once I picked him back up to go back to the clubhouse.:joystick:

    Zlin 526 AFS
    Zlin 142

    L-13 Blanik

    Cirrus otw this year

@homuth - seems "only" GPL right? Anyway nice types. Which of them you prefer?
@gonads - any pictures from flying somewhere?

right im just a GP.I prefer the DG 300 and the Ls4,both turn well, and climb like hell.but the Ls4 glides a bit better on higher speeds and the ails of the DG300 are really hard to move @ hi speeds, but it got a better out-view with the large canopy.
my favorite doubleseater is the Scheibe SF34b(the plane on which ive learned to fly),it turns and glides a bit better then the ASK 21 (most popular trainer in germany).
    here some pics of them.

1st the DG 300 registry code D-7198 call sign L3
2nd Ls 4b registry code D-2819 call sign DZ
    3rd ASK 21 registry code D-3238 call sign L5
4th SF 34b registry code D-4203 call sign FA

btw my flying-club bought a Cirrus @ the end of 2006 going to test it this year.

What sort of Cirrus, 20 or 22? They are a very comfy plane to fly, and the glass cockpit is amazing to use. It takes a bit of time to get used to after using steam-powered gauges for so long, but great once comfortable with it.

I had my wedding photos taken at the place where I fly the cirrus. When I get them i'll post some of it.

But an SR20/22 has a big fan up the front that helps you get to where you intend to more reliably. :)

And you get to the scene of the accident twice as quick when you fuck up and lose one...

Vmc is a nice, low 93kts on MU-2, but thats kinda what i meant.
SR-20 & 22 have a very poor safety record, but not as bad as MU-2, which at 17 deaths per million passenger hour is the worst

A nice Vmc like that is fine, but there have been numerous studies made on it to try and improve its bad safety record.

In saying that though, I do like the MU-2 :)
