Battle of Britain Scenario ? test run

?Never in the field of human conflict has so much been owed by so many
to so few.?

The mother of the WWII airbattles is coming on FH! SA arena ready for test flights, we challenge all pilots to take part in this famous battle.

Scenario campaign should proceed in the several stages (events). Each stage should has two frames. Each frame should has 40-45min - no longer. Basic idea is in one stage repeat 2x one frame. Each event will be scheduled in the webcalendar.

Stage 1 - The Battle Begins (July 10th to Aug 7th 1940)
Stage 2 - Pressure grows ? The Eagle Day (Aug 6 to 8th Dec 1940)
Stage 3 - The Blitz (7th Sept to Oct 5th 1940)
Stage 4 - The End of the Battle (6th Oct to Oct 31st 1940)

Description of each stage missions, registration of pilots/squads, COs/Groups-Squad Leaders assignment and discussion will be published in separate threads asap.The detailed rules and dates of scenario events will be posted when necessary tests passed.End of testing phase assigned to the Thu ? September 30.


Test-pilots Challenge

For optimal setting up of arena is necessary proceed several testflights. Pls help with this job, any testpilot welcome. Pls do following testflights:

Luftwaffe

For all types: take off with 100% fuel load. Fly over channel to the x.5 line and back to your homebase. During flight reach angels 15 and 20. Check fuel left (if any) when returned home.

Bombers ? try flights described above with the different ammo-loads. Try bomb red convoys 21, 22, 23 and see if ship destroyed. Do same test with the bombing ports and factories on the British coast and London Thames.

RAF

For both types (Hurricane, Spitfire): take off with 100% fuel load ? check needed time for reach angels 15 and fuel left (in percents) after achieving this altitude. Do same test for reach angels 20.

Notes:

BoB map is a bit buggy ? some targets as ports or factories are not assigned to any country. This means you will be under fire when in flack/ack area of these targets ? doesn?t matter if they are near by your homebase. But this point shouldn?t has affect to our gameplay. Similar situation is with gold radars when five of them are assigned on the british coast. We just try to solve this bug or take some precautions of eliminating this bug.

these result of testflights will be used for the beeter scenario design and timing of each mission.

If possible pls follow your tests with different plane types/ordnance. Try also reach fly from other fields.

Among others still need also pass tests:

Luftwaffe
bomb attack, ports PORTSMOUTH, DOVER, SOUTHEND, LONDON/convoys 20-23 on channel. Pls try different plane/ordnance and report achieved damage/destroy target.

RAF
Hurricane: take off with 100% fuel load ? check needed time for reach angels 15 and fuel left (in percents) after achieving this altitude. Do same test for reach angels 20.

Hurricane, Spitfire - take off with 100% fuel load ? fly to the x,3,5 line (1/2 way between x,3 - x,4) check needed time for reach angels 15 and fuel left (in percents) after achieving this altitude. Than return back. Check fuel after landing.

Another required tests tasks asap.

others can take your report as a template.

looks your bombs missed targets - or (i hope not) ports cant be destroyed. If possible pls pass this test again and choose some large building in port and send all eggs in.

BUT - because slight NW (cca 10m/s) wind is set in arena, so its possible this have influence into bomb dispersion!!! If it will be confirmed - buff formations will has to use carpet bombing instead of precise as in real war

scenario test arena??? doesn't appear on fh launch today.

 

cc, its from yesterdays evening. We try contact server admins for solving this trouble, but still we dont know whats the reason.

I droped first bomb 500 kg specially between two buildings
I hope to destroy both.
Second bomb 500 kg hitted coner of not big building. In my opinion this must there was be enough.
First 50 kg fell near ack. In MA or TA this there was enough for destroy this target.

About influence winds. I think it not such significant. I droped the first bomb when crosshair there was between two buildings exactly. It fell little further and right. The second bomb droped exactly in the centre of building fell also further and right. Can be leaving the bomb to the right and there is influence winds .
But see, first bomb 50 kilograms too has left on course of plane onward. I did not do the quick passages.
First from S. Second from NE.

I will try to destroy any targets with 1000 kg.

Pls all, continue your tests.

Especially need test bombing against port buildings and facilities. Looks these targets are very hard (or invicible?). Use hvy loads.

 

RedBull if u have informtion abut it, pls post there, or tell other test-pilots post there results.

We still done some bomb test - looks no effect in bombing of ports. But we are not 100% sure. So if you can do bomb testflight against port targets, pls do that.
