I think it's pretty much the other way around! Go fly against German jets and your P-38 with flaps full down will get OUT TURNED by a Me-163 at 150 mph .... erm YEAH RIGHT.

Read some of this - The Me 163 was tiny and as a result, very light (and it's not a jet either :p )

    :)

Sure, the little 163 with no propellant, at 150IAS, could turn like crazy. But it wasn't able to climb.
And is this whine about another game?:
    it is, right?
No, I am not bitchin about it. I just was not sure [Some flavour of IL-2.... right?].
And besides, IL-2 is fairly, well, bad.
Not much of a game qua game. Marginally better than CFS3.

I agree to disagree with You Biles.
Recently I've been accused of cheating in one of the IL2 servers (mb it was because I am the adminstrator of that server, who knows ;) ). The thing was, that I did outmanouvre a Spitfire IXc in my 109G2, and repaeted that with 109G6 versus the very same plane.... on numerous occasions :D
The thing with IL-2 is, that the FMs are quite messy, but altogether better and more complicated than the WB's ones. Recent update (4.04) which added 300kg of weight to the LaGG series only shows how much is still to be done.
About Me-163, BI-1, He-162, Do-335 and other planes i do call "inventions"... well they're added for those who can't fly normal planes... normal servers (like the one I'm proud to administrate) do not feature those planes and also limit the avaibility of some better planes to improve gameplay. I'm fairly cautios before featuring unbalanced planesets on a map, even on Ardennes 1944/45 map we're currently testing I've disabled jets for awhile (although a limited number of Me-262 A2 and even more limited number of Me-262 A1's will be added to improve the "historic feel" of the map).
The "Uber" list of planes starts and ends with Russian designs, so we only feature one eastern front map at the time. Spitfires and early 109G's are also sort of "Uber" but make a pretty close match, so there's no problem with them.
As for the dweebplanes like the jets and LA-5FN's -well at least the Me-262 flies like it should in FB and is not "a switch engine, full throttle, roll, climb" plane like it is in other sims. Yesterday I've landed a damaged Me-262 with one engine and loads of damage done to the right wing- on a grass... no problem in WB, but a challenge in IL-2

    as a reply to:

I haven't played FB. But I have played IL-2, the first one. What I noticed was big low alt dogfights or small low alt dogfights. The FMs seemed, well, alright, I guess. But the 'feel' of the 'game' seemed to lack something for me. What I believe it lacked was a 'point.' There is so much to do in WB, so many different things for a player to become interested in, so many angles to approach, so many ways to 'win' or to 'lose.' I didn't get a feeling of variety in IL-2. That is what I meant by 'Game qua game.'
Now, my ears did perk up when I read you liked it and fly in it and care. The fact a compatriot from HERE cares means, I hope, a player put some thought and love into scenarios in IL-2 FB and maybe HAS MANAGED to make a 'game rule' or two in FB. Maybe I repurchase IL-2 [other copy stolen by errant, angry and crazed former room mate - oh, this one is FB, right? Okay, maybe I can find one in a discount bin ;)] and try it in your server thingie.

@others: It's a good shoot'em up, so don't diss it so much. (i like R-Type better tho, but Cho Ren Sha 68000 is the absolute best)
