IMHO R4Ms here are undermodeled. They are unstable and weak. Almost impossible to hit targets on the ground, flying ... noi comments. Many reports says that R4M were good. Pierre Clostermann wrote about that.
Those rockets were so good that allies develop many other rockets based in his project after WWII ending.

A battery typically consisted of two groups of 12 rockets, and when all 24 were fired at once they would fill an area about 15 by 30 m at 1000 m, dense enough that one was almost certain to hit its target.

No wonder one can't hit flying objects with them when fired one at a time...

i can hit smaller area than 15x30m from 1km with r4m
they seem overmodelled to me then
    :D

I can't hit a hangar with guns from D2. So I'm out of conversation.

I can, sometimes, let's say 1 out of 4 times, hit hangar with a plane, does that count? :D

but , seriously, the R4M in WB are crap.

freak :D the only thing wrong with r4m is that you can't fire tham all at once. even with lowest .delay it takes few second to drop 24 rox

    me262 has that load afair
i remember one raid on cv in jets
    around 5 or 6 planes
fired 150rox in 5seconds at one boat
total score was like 3-4 hits and no big harm to the boat :D

All rox air-to-air suck. I've fired many times rox against my enemies (about 50/ToD) and in 4 years i've hit 2. Do red rox need to be improved too?

If icons are D18 or over, wgr21 aren't too hard to use air to air. All the others you need a direct hit with unless your enemy is hedge-hopping. the trouble with using r4ms is that you dont get too much practice with them, only 1 month every RPS if that & that the speed you need to make your firing decision at is very high & they are quite a weak rocket anyway...

and i dont know why few years ago RS rockets had speed 2x lower, and were crappy some as bazzooka p38 & r4m hitler
All depends rocket velocity guyz, proof that r4m had 400m/s and i will say developers are cock suckers.
    AFAIR HVAR had some 400+ m/s , RS soviet some 300+ m/s
anyone has data of 3'' HERP and R4M and bazooka and M10 ? please share it here
yes R4m sucks, bazooka sucks, m10 sucks, 3'' almost sucks, rs outstanding, hvar the ultimate, wgr21 star wars

I've never died from rocket hit in air, many times enemy shoot on me
Few times died on the ground only
Never hit enemy in air, mostly because i'm not shooting air-to-air :D
But once i get 2 kills in 190 in one burst ( both were evading in turn :D ).
It was the time when rgreat makes available 190a4 in early 1941 (kinda of roster protest or something)

My only two kills in 4 years at FHWB using rocket as air to air weapon were both chasing a con at d10 aprox in straight flight at 600kph more less. Once were flying a Fw190 and the other with a Typhoon. And both were just lucky hits as is almost imposible to aim rockets air to air.

In fact, R4M were thought to be used by 262 vs massive "flying boxes" of B17/B24, where were relatively "easy" to hit something with a mass rockect attack. Dont pretend to have Sidewinder infrared guided missiles instead of R4M.

I don't want to boast too much but I can hit a 12mm ack from altitude of 7000m with 50kg bomb every time. No joke. I deliver the bomb all the way down on the plane though :flyer:
