HE-177 with 2x1800 2x1000 cant climb, even on full power
HE-177 with 2x1000 2x1000 cant climb without full power

in any instance, they keep flying to the left 0.1 degrees per second (you start heading N, auto-trim on level, 900 seconds after it is flying W, by itself)

Whle on the other hand, the uber Pe-8 reaches 480km/h

    /me thinking..............35% completed
Pe-8 is not uber, afaik. it's modelled by quite good charts as "TB-7 with AM-35A etalon 1941". but set to 1943 to prevent disbalance.

The most annoying thing is that the aircraft is unable to climb to operational altitude (7km)

Despite HE-177 A-3 being one of the fastest bombers of the time...

On the other hand Pe-8, in all sources i could gather, is quoted at 436km/h mas speed, i reached 480 easily on the arena, will full fuel load and bomb load...

Using HE-177 i could barely climb to 1,8km with full load and the maximum speed reached was 230km/h... Theres something clearly wrong with this bird.

Other annoying thing is the left leaning, the aircraft keeps turning to the left (without roll) at a very fast rate, making it even more unable to climb, as i am forced to roll right to come back to the correct heading.

Axis History Forum is a good place to dig technical documents of the time about any aircraft.

    http://forum.axishistory.com/index.php

There you can search about any aircraft using the forum search function. And, there are REAL engenieers there, not the pretending ones like rollangarros et al.

man, there's a vast number of conditions...
    7km with which load?
fastest with which flight weight? which regimes and altitudes?
    etc etc.
you have charts of climb and speed of greif? marked by flight weights, of course.
and i really doubt developers will go and search under your directions.
they prefer data to be brought to them, proven and ready to recode to wb format.

    480km/h of pe-8 - ias?

Of course, develops dont fly gold, they even cant notice small glitches on gold planes, alas correct Red planes specs...

Get down from your pedestal. "developers" would (if they want to make a GOOD JOB) search for information wherever it is possible to find it, and i pointed the best source of information i know about in the net (instead of the ufanic russian sites), where people throw info about any aircraft you want. I cant speak for the develoipers, so i cant go in that forum and ask for the charts in their place. Its your duty to do this, not mine.

I will do a FAVOUR, i will start a thread there asking people to give me all charts possible for He-177 A-3. Not more. But its a waste if developers don´t use this unique place and oportunity to learn more about the aircraft of the era, as we all can see the garbage FH turned out with so much downgrading of gold planes to suit Russian wartime propaganda.

    Hi exec. Take look this:
    extract from: http://agw.bombs-away.net/showpost.php?p=337895&postcount=6

    "Hi Sentin,

here's some data on the real-world He 177A-5/R7 (from Heinkel's data sheets as published after WW2):

    Code:
    Empty weight: 17210 kg
    Additional Equipment: 1730 kg
    Equipped weight: 18940 kg
    Crew: 600 kg
    Fuel: 8350 kg
    Lubricants: 400 kg
    Payload: 2710 kg
    Take-off weight: 31000 kg

    Top speed:
    490 km/h @ 2000 m
    515 km/h @ 4000 m
    520 km/h @ 5700 m

Cruise speed at 80% take-off power:
    395 km/h @ 2000 m
    400 km/h @ 4000 m
    410 km/h @ 5700 m

Climb time with bomb load, at rated power, to:
    2000 m 8.8 min
    4000 m 19.9 min
    6000 m 36.5 min
    From:

Heinkel - Chronik und Typenblaetter der Firma Heinkel Flugzeugbau
    ISBN 3-92505-08-3
    AVIATIC VERLAG GmbH
    Oberhaching 1989

    >Heinkel He 177 Grief

Actually, it's "Greif". Phonetically, I'd write it as "gryphe" for an English speaker.

    >Power plant: two 2,950-hp ( 2200Z ) Daimler-Benz DB 610A 1/B-1 inline pistons

Let me point out that these were actually four individual engines with two connected to each propeller by clutches. Accordingly, the He 177 had four sets of engine controls, but only two sets of propeller controls.

    >Armament:
    Nose 7.92mm ( 0.31 in ) MG 81 gun
    13mm ( 0.51 in ) MG 131 gun in forward & rear dorsal turrets & ventral gondola
20mm MG FF cannon in ventral gondola & tail

That seems messed up. The A-5/R7 had:

    Nose MG81J
    Chin MG151/20
    Belly MG81Z or MG131J
    Fore Turret 2 x MG131
    Aft Turret 1 x MG131
    Tail MG151/20

In earlier versions, the chin gun could be a MG FF, the fore turret could have only a single MG131, and the tail gun could be a MG131, too. All combinations were possible, and some more (like a second belly position :)

Bomb loads for a He 177 with all three bomb bay sections available (in the guided missile carriers, the forward bomb bay was blocked and used for carrying fuel):

    Code:
    Fore: 2 x (2 x SC50 or 1 x SC250 or 1 x (Rack for 8 x SC50) or 1 x PC1000 or 1 x SC1000)
    Middle: 2 x (2 x SC50 or 1 x SC250 or 1 x PC1000)
    Aft: 2 x (2 x SC50 or 1 x SC250 or 1 x (Rack for 8 x SC50) or 1 x PC1000)
    Middle/Aft*: 2 x (SC1000 or SC1800)
    * If big bombs were loaded, there was some overlap between the bomb bays.

Since the fore bomb bay was longer than the middle/aft bays, it could take a SC1000 general purpose bomb while the middle/aft bays could only take the smaller PC1000 armour piercing 1000 kg bombs without overlap.

The maximum possible bomb loads were 6000 kg (6 x 1000 kg), or, using the largest standard Luftwaffe bombs, 5600 kg (2 x SC1000 + 2 x SC1800). A vast number of combinations would be possible, of course.

The He 177 weight data I listed is for a missile carrier version with the fore and middle bomb bay used for fuel, so it carries about 4000 L/3000 kg more fuel than a pure bomber version.

    Regards,

    Henning (HoHun)"

    thats to you Saddan.
    Rgs, Gunther

Thank you for the data :)

Unfortunate that we couldnt have guided missiles here :p

That was a hell of a advanced bomber for the time, surpassed only by B-29.

Saddan, put your favor somewhere away.
    developers don't owe you anything.
if they WANT, they search. if they don't have a time for surfing, you CAN bring data.
despite of unwillingness to search sometimes, they always WANT to look at data brought.
if you cannot bring data, don't wheep.

By the way, you played first WB FH versions? Equal them with 1.65-1.66 and look at work done by developers.

IE : Downgrade Gold planes to the point of ridiculous (Like HE177 unable to climb) while making uber Red planes fantasies come true.

    Saddan, calculate it:

Max take-off weight He.177: 31000 kg with Fuel:8350 kg and Payload:2710 kg (11060 max load).
If you use 4000/5600 kg bomb, then fuel must have below 7060/5460 kg ? 85/65%.
    Next. Compare He.177 vs Pe-8.
Wing load: 310kg/m2 He.177 (hard wingload, minor climb) vs 185kg/m2 Pe-8
    Power load: 5.25kg/hp vs 6.48kg/hp.
23% more power not compensate 67% more wingload.

speaking frankly, i don't have time to search, but i have time to pass data to developers.
but some folkz... well, won't speak about sad.

He-177 is quoted to takeoff with 6000kg bombload.

Lets forget about this data, and concentrate on the following :

    - Theres a gold airplane in the arena wich cant fly with the settings provided by the arena itself. This is a clear bug, no need to more info about this. The game is incoherent with itself, PERIOD.

And the comparision between Pe-8 and He-177 doesnt takes into consideration the superior aerodinamics of HE-177, much more developed than the primitive russian Pe-8.

Flying with the max bombload should decrease range, not make the airplane unable to climb to operational height. An aircraft wich cant fly with 4000kg (While being quoted to fly with 6000kg IRL) is a clear bug without need to further data. The game allows a bombload of 4x1000kg or 2x1000kg and 2x1800kg, but the aircraft dont fly with this bombload provided by the ARENA ITSELF. This is more than a clear proof that developers give a damn to gold side, as this bug would be an easy one to spot.

    You not read my post?

If you overloaded any plane, it crashed.

You can use 8t bomb, but maxload must below 11t ? 3t fuel max.
Try use 50% fuel with 2x1000+2x1800 and all ? 177 can climb.

Aerodinamics? For example, read this http://www.simviation.com/fsdcbainhe177.htm

Are you imbecile or what ?

    He177 is quoted at <b>6t bombload</b>

It cant climb even on 10% fuel with the current 4x1000kg

This is more than enought to say, PERIOD. I dont need to argue anymore than this.
