The hardware/software forum is all in russian so I post here: I have saitec cyborg joystick at home and I dont want to use a throttle on it, I want to use keyboard for throttle instead. The problem is that when WB detects a joystick with analog throttle it disables throttle keys on the keyboard. Is there a way to solve it? Can I make some changes in wb configuration files or reprogram the joystick to achive this ? Please help.
q flyin with a stick now? i guess i know the answer why its placed in bad position, not too handy especially during a fight, eh? i would use the solution as well anybody?
Yeah, the throttle in in the stupidest place a throttle can be. It requires you to remove your left hand from the keyboard or your right from the stick, in order to move the thing. I would also like to know how to do this thing, as I have a Saitek. There are six buttons on the base of the stick which are next to useless as well, also requiring the use of another hand.
Hi. Try to reconfigure your keys in Setup/keyboard in FHL. BTW , I have a Sidewinder Precision Pro and its works fine throtle and /or keybord keys.
I think it's quite easy, as Big-jo said, try to add a custom joystick setting in Windows' game controllers setting. Set it with only 3 axises, without throttle.
btw you guys were right solution was as simple as that custom stick -> Z axis (no throttle/pedals) and works fine laziness do not pay off (its a value itself)
Custom stick solution works great. Thnx a lot. But of course I am still not convinced that joy is a good solution for me. It apeares I have to make a lot of movement with the joy to control the plane properly.
About the pedals. How do you connect them to the machine and how do U make them work with wb ? Do you have driver writen for them ?
I have removed the potentiometer from the rotary handle in the stick and soldered the rudder potentiometer to these wires. No drivers. Doesnt work for optical sticks, though... I think Snake went the same way.
Yup, that was the idea With enough patience and some knowledge I guess even with opticals it could be done
Opticals are 100% doable, i only meant you wont connect a pot to an optical stick. I've even started fiddling with old mouse optical sensors to adapt them to my rudder pedals but scrapped the idea and started making new pedals, with a standalone usb controller. Not for WB though...
