    Carlo Abarth was more famous as a tuner/race car designer and automobile maker than a motorcycle racer.
    He was an excellent engineer and made the famous Abarth exhaust systems and Abarth race cars. Many world records and championships. Mostly based on Fiat cars, he did make some special F1 cars, Porsche and Ferrari based one-offs.
    He was one of the first famous tuners in the world and formed the model for the likes of Shelby, Cosworth, AMG,Ruff and a host of others.
    His cars were small, very high output motors from small displacement motors and very fast.
    I was very lucky to own a few.

    Unfortunately Grand Prix racing was almost ALWAYS about money.
    In the 50's and 60's you didn't see it. Starting in the late 60's they justed started to whore-out completely.

    "Couldthard, Salo, Irvine, Hill". Do not put those names in the same sentence as Gilles Villeneuve.
