So you would classify that article as "anti-Russian"? Even though it's pretty critical of that U.S. involvement in the whole affair?

And these are OF COUSE are russians...right.

Btw, it is not a russian army uniform.

They wear white bands on the hand, that mean these are volontier civilians.
By the faces, and relative amount of 'volontiers' they are most likely osetins trying to get 'compensation' for their burned homes.

    I love western media.
All of these 'Bloodiest fightings' are recorded in osetia though.

    What's your point?

You're splitting it up merely culturally now. Liberals like to tout how they want to privatise every government owned company. And most western media was the first to go in that wave. In the second wave, the rest went. In Belgium we still have a regional broadcast service (such as in the Flemish, and Wallon region etc). The rest are privately owned.

All they care about is viewers, and ratings. So what they'll do to get those is put the more sensational stories up front, like the one of that 12 year old girl. You know how the moral high and mighty in America all get foaming at the mouth if a little girl is endangered. Anyway, the sensational stories. And how would it be sensational, if it wasn't portrayed that way?

So there's that. But then you also forget, that there's a lot of media out there that strives to deliver quality reports. The sort of media that wants to give a no-nonsense as neutral as they can look on whatever situation they're reporting on. I'll leave it up to you to decide which kind of source best describes that, for me personally, we have a newspaper De Standaard, who only report with a bias when it comes to Belgian poltics. So, they'd naturally prefer to go with the truth, it's the way they were conceived, and saying they're biased is well... naive.

And then there's the press agencies, Reuters, AFP etc etc, also in the business. Meaning, they'll report on stories that sell. So, they can be juicy, and to juice it up, be biased. On the other hand though, they just portray whatever they feel like, in whatever way they feel like. There's been plenty of anti-American tinted news reports on them, and we've had plenty of those sorts of dicussion threads over here as well. Remember the good old days with squirl, talking about the invasion in Iraq etc.

Anyway, now Russia's the alleged culprit, that doesn't mean tomorrow's not gonna stand in the light of shame either.

My guess it would be that it was some south ossetian sniper who thinks it's time to settle scores. Not a russian one.

But you guys gave that opportunity for him...

Why are russians in Gori anyway? Though I have to admit that it helps to keep SO peaceful when tanks are over 50km's to south of it....

There are no russian troops in Gori.

    Edit:
And yes, having adequate Army around Saakashvili really helps to pacify him.
Better him chewing on his necktie then him calling airstrikes and bombardements on people.
Personally i dont care if tanks and infantry are in Tbilisi as long as it helps to keep people from shoothing each other.

I thought many of the Russian guys are more open minded on this board.
