    ...Getting to know the system

The first release(s) of Haiku will be very much like the BeOS R5, the operating system it is reimplementing. If you never experienced it, have a look at these links:----------------------------!!!!!!!!!!---------------------------

    I
was up and running in ten minutes, raw image to an external drive. To install to a portable HDD:
No bootloader needed, if you write to a raw partition.
I was so disappointed when Be was sold and the buyers decided to support cell phones and remote control channel changers but kept their source proprietary and abandoned their user-base.

I don't give a fuck about cell phone OSes etc. I use PCs.
I ran BeOS on a P2 way back when. Sometime in the late 90s. I really liked it. It was fast as hell. I could run ten movies at the same time. I ran out of ram, so it began to slow down after ten. Not bad for those old 90s PCs.
I got a hard-on for that OS and then POOF - gone.

Users were assured that some way would be found to bring the Be back.
    It is back now.
    My cock can grow again!!
    I mean crow again.
    hehe.

Met and spoke with that guy back in '95 or so.

One thing (amazingly :) I agree with you about: Phone OS is not for me. I use Android and Nokia every day, but I want a big-ass PC at home. It's what the Japanese call Galapogos Syndrome. My gaijin fingers and mindset are too big and different to be comfortable with what they like. It's weird, but it's true and simply a fact.

What is the value of an OS? Can I do what I want to do now.

Now I want to sleep and my phone can't help me.

    Great means large.
The reason the forum is suffering from irrelvant topics, off off-topic nonsense, is because the sim's 'community' is not great anymore, it is quite small, actually. There are more people playing Air Warrior 2 [joking, half serious - I wonder.........]

It might be a good sim, but isn't great. Hasn't been for a while.
    Remember BeOS?
    Remember Air Warrior?
    Amiga?

My hobby dream would be to run into a bunch of people who enjoy air combat sims who I find on a decent online air combat sim who I know and enjoy [that would be you guys].
In various air combat sims over the years, I have been called, Biles, Niles, Fromage, Cheese_Lady and Giles. And a couple I can't remember. I bet at least one old timer here has shot me down on other online air combat flight sims....
We will continue meeting, through our lives. This hobby is bigger than this game.

I knew some people through BBSs. They were Amiga lovers. I visited an informal coffee club in vancouver where Amiga lovers met. I got to see and try some of their machinery. It was way beyond me, back then. All the stuff looked so nice and they were fast and sounded good and were multimedia. But I couldn't even get the mouse to click.
It wasn't until after I started to be comfortable with Nix that Amiga OS started to make ANY SORT OF SENSE to me.
I tried some emulation way back then, but my old 386 couldn't do anything without constant stutters and I thought it had something to do with the OS, I was so wrong. I am not a newbie anymore and I know better.

Many people think MS makes computers. AMiga lovers, Mac owners, lovers of Commodors and stuff? They know better also. I think we lost a lot of our brain power when so many people decided to farm monoculture technology.

I belive having choice is a good thing and the more choices, the better. One day The Virus will hit and every single MS box on earth is gonna fail.
And when that happens, Amigas and Unixes and Macs will have survived the Attack Of The Borg. We are still out there, waiting for the dinosour to fail, just like they did before. We little mice and rats will rule, it is simply nature at work.

    I love you.

which is not to say iloveyou.exe
    or iloveyou.bat
    or iloveyou.com
    or iloveyou.msi
    or iloveyou.sc
    etc.

    just

    I love you.
