Loading the launcher I found there were quite a few guys on flying!
So, an idea came to me to create a thread where maybe people who are planning an event of sorts can announce it so others will know and jump in on the fun! Nice to know I think!

So, as of right now....as I'm posting there are 9 of us on.....ftz-vn, malej-, ritual, -turbo, buzbat, casper, jammyy, and prkchp, and myself! -alw--.

    Come on in and join!

Also, gandhi, dudley, and jochen showed up.
Was some fun fights that waned and them some of us went to the TA for a bit. I tried the Tempest and Typhoon. Have to say I wasn't expecting those aircraft to be so terribly modeled. For any new folks logging into this simulator, they'll be quickly dumping the Tempest and Typhoon. Not very flyable at lower speeds and quite unstable.

I'm trying to get this to work on Windows 8. As soon as I start flying, all controls go haywire and my plane is all over the place ... I suspect it as something to do with me having both a stick and rudder pedals plugged in. Man, I fucking hate computers ...

maybe the best thing to do at this stage is to get the latest version of warbirds from ien (with their permission of course) and just add freehost aircraft ie beaufighter, etc. and make sure that every flight model is good.

I think freehost is almost dead. maybe there is a little bit of interest at the moment but everyone agrees that the flight models have been changed so much and the game has deteriorated for many years.

Red Ant, when I saw your post I wanted to try it too, because I'm on Windows 8.1 (on this PC, anyway).

Using the single executable FH installer for 167R2 (think that's the one), I also had problems with the controls at first. But I disconnected my rudder pedals and that helped -- but it still needs adjusting, so I still need to adjust more. Soon :)

    Have you seen this? http://youtu.be/YMLUmaFBNjk

I would go with a Logitech. I'm still using my old "reliable" MS SWPP stick.

I still swear by MS SideWinder Force Feedback 2 Joystick. If you look hard and long you can still find a few at Thrift stores or junk shops. I trying to coner the market on them. but getting harder to find.
