Hi all, I have a question. Is it called Bf 109 or Me 109? I am asking this because this forum needs threads started by peoples who are not hezey or mcloud. Greetings August
Well yeah, you meet the odd person every now and then even in a cemetery. I wish it was 2001 again ... the world was such a better place back then.
I don't know where I was on Ninth of November. Is is someone's birthday? What year? I don't get it.... I don't think the cartoon is funny. Maybe it is in a different language? Reverse Polish? Hey above guy, you really serious? You want to know why the Bf 109 and uh, well, you know what I mean? You really don't know?
Button, it has the word 'Quote' on it. Move the mouse curser over the button and use the left button on the mouse WAIT STOP Look at the first sentence in the wiki entry...... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messerschmitt_Bf_109
I like it in WB-FH. Unfortunately there are so few players that you have to fly Buffs or Ju52 to have fun. No one to dogfight with.
Biles thrived in furballs. Biles did NOT thrive in depopulated arena. This FreeHost should be pushed in Pakistan and India*, where there are hundreds of millions of people with old hardware who would appreciate freehost, being able to use it. Think: India red, Pakistan gold Name brand? HateNet
We payed millions of DeutschMark (now Euro) to this countries and they do not have up to date hardware? What`s wrong in this world?
In S Asia a lot of people use handhelds.... It is difficult to steal the copper out of cell towers. S Asia's cities have loads of cell tech but less high speed tele-data. Warbirds FH can be played on many many many of the desktops PCs in south Asia. Gamers are good no mater where they come from. A large minority of people in S Asia speak and read English [the lingua Franca these days]. Internet cafes are huge in developing world. People in Lahore like to game, same as anyone, but they don't have the same disposable income. Fuckin Freehost server side should be GPLed, FFS. Set free.* *Uh, is it already? I will go look. [I doubt it]
Meh, I can't even get WB to run on my Windows 8 machine anymore. Used to work fine on Windows 7. What's arena attendance like these days? Still mostly 0, and 1 or 2 every now and then?
It seems this place is really dead. I haven't played WB in over a year..I have 8.1 now and i5 chip. doubt it will work. Isn't there another game that everyone switched to? IL2 something or other? Apparently Il2 has way better graphics and realism, but it isn't much of a game, like bombing raids, capturing fields, etc. IS there another site that has wb though? anybody know? (sry off topic franz, just don't want to start another thread)
It's simple really: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Me109 "... Designation and nicknames Main article: RLM aircraft designation system Originally the aircraft was designated as Bf 109 by the RLM, since the design was submitted by the Bayerische Flugzeugwerke (literally "Bavarian Aircraft Works") during 1935. The company was renamed Messerschmitt AG after 11 July 1938 when Erhard Milch finally allowed Willy Messerschmitt to acquire the company. All Messerschmitt aircraft that originated after that date, such as the Me 210, were to carry the "Me" designation. Despite regulations by the RLM, wartime documents from Messerschmitt AG, RLM and Luftwaffe loss and strength reports continued to use both designations, sometimes even on the same page.[35] All extant airframes bear the official[36] "Bf 109" designation on their identification plates, including the final K-4 models,[37] with the notable exception of aircraft either initially built or re-fitted by Erla Maschinenwerk at Leipzig, which sometimes bear the erroneous Me 109 stamping. The aircraft was given several nicknames by its operators and opponents, generally derived from the name of the manufacturer (Messer, Mersu [originally the Finnish nickname for the prestigious Mercedes-Benz cars], Messzer etc.), or the external appearance of the aircraft: the G-6 variant was nicknamed by Luftwaffe personnel as Die Beule ("the bump/bulge") because of the cowling's characteristic, bulging covers for the breeches of the 13 mm (.51 in) MG 131 machine guns, with the separate Beule covers eliminated by the time of the G-10 model's introduction of a subtly reshaped upper cowling, while Soviet aviators nicknamed it "the skinny one" for its sleek appearance (compared to the more robust Fw 190). The names "Anton", "Berta", "Caesar", "Dora", "Emil", "Friedrich", "Gustav" and "Kurfürst" were derived from the variant's official letter designation (e.g. Bf 109G – "Gustav"), based on the German spelling alphabet of World War II, a practice that was also used for other German aircraft designs.[38] ..."
I think this place is "dead" for the following reasons: 1. Flight models for veteran players and new users are currently miserable to endure. http://www.warbirdsfreehost.com/ 2. Who knows about WBFH?? I mean, really, who knows about WarBirds FreeHost? 3. Too difficult for new users to download, install, and get to operate on latest operating systems. 4. Flight models are impossible for those who have never flown aircraft or have no idea about basic flight operations. 5. No easy arena with AI fighters that shoot back as target practice.
