BTW, as you know, Mick Ronson died a few years back from liver cancer. In his later years he produced Morrissey and managed to make that dude successful... David Bowie was quite a guy. A baritone singer....did anyone notice? Very few successful baritones out there...in pop anyways, they are almost always tenors.. And, on that note, if everyone is singing pop in a tenor range, it leaves the audience craving for something heavier... (a baritone) Elvis Presley and David Bowie. No one could touch them in their range. Mariah Carey, go scream your head off lady, I was sick of you like 20 years ago. David Bowie vocal range sings with Ronson at 4:40 I think..
Oh yeah, bowie's tonal range was quite the thing. Oh, man, make most vocalists croak and crackle, COUGH AND CACKLE without one of those inventions [which I hate]. Nothing wrong with a singer who has limits, they just need to sing within those limits, no need for fakery [FUCKIN Cher, oh GOD]

Bowie was an artist. Singer-writer, performer, actor.. He did it all. He was fearless. Performing with Klaus Nomey.. DAMM He projected the life on the edge... but who knows his private life.... And who cares? He leaves a body of work that speaks for itself and will entertain and amaze future generations!
Not digital, but a bunch of overloaded tracks on tape. They used to munge them all down because they had, often 8 to 16 max. Check out Ken Scott's book *Abbey Road to Ziggy Stardust* (and his drum track products)!
