Now gunrad is set to 0.10, changing it to 0.01 result with:
    • more realistic bullet hit counter*
    • less hits from far distance shooting
    • less hits from spray
    • less long range hits from jeeps
    • jeep maybe harder to strafe

    May result with:
    • less PK from behind

    * with smaller value of gunrad parameter bullets need hit target inside green shape to be counted as hit
with bigger values of gunrad you dont need to aim precisely, just near target (shown as red shape gunrad about 1.00 - 0.5)

Please note, that TA has the GUNRAD set to 0.01 now.

Everyone can test it on TA (Training Arena) and post your opinion/comments here.

2 exec: please add option "I don't care".

    No bullet radius.
    Make it ZERO.
THEN you can watch, as biles actually GETS kills.
I want the guy in my ginsight reticle front of me to be in trouble. I don't want the guy in front of me to laugh as he wiggles his stck and eases away from my scattershot.
I want to kill him with deadly precision [pretend, of course].
Many of my countrymen were heard to exclaim:
All that matters is getting your guns on target. If you can do that, you can kill the [enemy].
It's all I fight for in the game. I want the other guy in my sites. But in the game, a guy being in your sites is often laughing, at least laughing at me.....

For some reason, the fact of being a marksman in rl, fully capable of hitting aerial targets with A RIFLE doesn't translate in the sim, well, makes me totally unproud.
As a youth I used to enjoy plinking aerial targets with my trusty sears sure shot. Can't simulate that, damn it. Wish I could.
And it ain't possible to simulate it either, I know. Damn.

Hell. I hardly ever play anymore, so my thoughts matter little.
    nevermind

i vote for a higher bullet-radius, because with microwarps and the monitor-resolution aiming is much more difficult than in real life.
and pilots with bad hardware will be more frustrated.

You mean 'cheaters' using 2d (software =) ) mode? what do you mean by "bad hardware"? and, point me someone who is using 640*480 display mode for warbirds...

I use 2d exclusively. The 3d bothers me. 60Hz is bad for my 'between the ears' space. I get headaches. No matter 3d or 2d, I get headaches at 60Hz.
And in 3d, along with headaches is the fact pixel hunting [speck hunting, I call it] is MUCH harder.

640x480 makes pixel hunting a tad less difficult.

    So there.

Each change brings on other nasty game mechanics. The only way out of this is to use a different game. Which isn't gonna happen here...
    And I understand and sympathize.

A littany of things computers have done to me:
Bad right wrist from mouse [soe VERY bad human engineered stuff in mice. Bad idea from the start and marketed like it was some sort of fuckin miracle.
Seeing a 60Hz hallucination for hours after leaving the screen.
    Headaches.
And now, flat screen LCDs. Make you sit in ONE spot in order to see a polarized screen. There is more fatigue injuries to come.

Me thinkin seriously of ditching this technology and going back to eden.

    Chess anyone?
[nice wooden pieces. A chess board that doesn't glare a 40 watt beam of light into my head, or my opponents head. I can go sit there, on that side of the table, or over there, by the drugs and still pay attention. My wrist doesn't begin to ache. I am headache free for hours]

640 or 1024 are not comparable to real life. with bad hardware, i mean bad joysticks or mouse-user and maybe there are still graphic-cards with fps below 30.

Imho there is no dependency between hardware and aiming. When u start shooting client software calculates trajectory and show it on screen, update bullet projectile and show it, then calculate hits and show it on screen (as small flashes).

Nice option. I am tired of being killed from d7 by p-38 and spits, and for any red plane by d15 when I am as bomber. I use 2d 640x480 and it is fine to play. I usualy play with 1024x860, but my monitor is damaged, so I need to use a smaller monitor.

I didnt even know that there was a setting called "Gunrad" that effects hit like uve shown ur little pic up the top.

If thats the case, im all for it being changed to 0.01. We all want some sort of realism, and thats a good step towards it imho.

@lesiu, i use 640x480 in 3D. Looks like alot of guys do ;)

when i started wb, i could not see the tracers, because of my graphic-card. later i saw more tracer, but not all. i'm not sure, if i see now every tracer , flashes or lost parts, because other pilots can better say, what the enemy lost.
and the joystick-aiming is very different from joystick to joystick. i compare them with JoyTester2

may be the long range hit can be reguled by a kind of dispertion; imo set 0.01 will be very frustrating for many standard players who will leave the game with the feeling of transparent enemi planes when shooting at d1/d2.
