    Здрасте, как это не ввели?

А что за значок тогда давеча мигал у какого-то города и почему на playskool активно обсуждаются последствия .overrun и то, почему оно неправильно работает?

    Re: www.wwiionline.ru - часть вторая

The new feature, that of "overrun" is able to be employed in game now, and while it doesn't have the other steps that will be a part of it yet (HAAC and Fallback) it does provide several functions of it's own that work to alleviate several issues and create more variation in tactical choices and the command/intelligence part of the game and feedback to players about what is going on and what they can do in a given situation where defense is both nescessary and at times difficult to organize.

When a town is owned by your side, but is under heavy attack, often culminating in the ubiguous "camp" which so many hate but at the same time feel complelled to spawn into and suffer the unavoidable consequences of ... a player at a facility in that town can call ".overrun" using the chat interface. The town must be owned by your side, and be contested, and enemy units must be inside it or on the very outskirts which would mean you would be getting EWS reports at the same time.

When a player, at a facility still owned by your side, types ".overrun" ... a request goes out to have that report acknowledged and the initiator of the request is told in chat that the request is available for confirmation by other players in that contested town. If you are not at a friendly owned facility in the contested town being overrun you cannot partake in this request process, as an instigator or confirmee. When this request for "overrun" command is passed by the host, following confirmation by a variable number of other players (based on the host alogrythim which takes into account several factors tied to player populations) ... a message goes out on your side channel that "xxx town reports being overrun" and an overrun icon appears on the ingame map over that town.

This allows players to know before even deciding to go to that town that it is being overrun and that a camp situation is likely, should they then decide that it isn't worth dying a gadzillion times just to spawn there. Or they can decide they want to spawn there, in full knowledge of the situation, in order to try and "save" that situation.

A town in an "overrun" state, displayed on the map as such, will lose its overrun condition if it becomes uncontested either by enemy capture and ownership or friendlies regaining ownership of the town by their own efforts in defense of it, and the icon will go away from the in game map.

Fallback or Hold At All Cost will work hand in hand with this overrun feature when they are complete and point release patched in a little time from now, allowing a town under overrun to have it's remaining equipment salvaged and supplied rear of it in a tactical withdrawl, with defensive FB's open to counter attack from ... before it all is wasted (at the expense of losing the town) or, conversly, with HAAC, have it's remaining equipment and that of those ABs supplying it from the rear unthrottled in a last attempt to hold the town and perhaps break the assault, although at the cost of everything you can spawn there if you do not succeed in holding it.

These subsequent point release features of deployment that are almost ready will have High Command and UI interfaces that govern how they are utilized and employed by players who are High Command attached, even though any player will be able to call for "overrun" (as they can now) the process by which HAAC or Fallback ordrs are confirmed and issued will be handled by High Command staff or attached commanders.

I hope some of this reveals for you how involved the process is, and how it will (and already is to some extent) to become realized in the game where it is actually quite complex, but must function in what appears to be a simple manner. It will certainly be a far different war you wage as this year unveils itself in WWIIOL ... with more options and much cooler "military" feel and command and control.

Add to that TOE's (where equipment spawn location in the world is determined uniquely rather than globally, as far as it's location in the world goes) and Command based deployment of Brigades, movement and supply ... and you'll maybe see that there is a lot about to happen, and that some of the basic foundations for this already have happened. It might also explain why some fairly innocent little features that seem trite right now are in fact part of that foundation and went in because they were easy to implement first, like High Command meshes and the Officer meshes that will follow for line commanders in the very near future.
