Religion seems to be the problem with the world today. Its not so much "i hate you cause ur black, chinese or a commie", its "i hate you cause your a muslim", or "i hate you cause your christian".

People who don't believe sometimes say they don't with an air of triumph, as if they'd just discovered the fatal flaw that will bring down the whole religious enterprise. As if the element of volition in faith were news. Of course I have faith. If I didn't have faith, if I didn't believe in Jesus Christ, if I didn't want it to be true, I'd believe in something else. Faith is not compelled by facts or evidence. It is a matter of the spirit, not just the mind - although the mind is a useful thing and it would certainly be hard to think about faith without it.

I see the same things everyone else sees: the same wonders, the same miseries. I don't live in a reality different from other people's. We're all in the same boat. Hardly anybody who was alive at the time when Jesus was born believed him to be the Messiah. Just a few shepherds and three old men from out of town. Yet, some of us hear Christ and some of us don't. Something has happened that has made us want to order our lives according to His presence and not His absence.
