Well, general off topic is still pretty lively. As for game itself - it is dead for more then 10 years already. Which is not really surprising as most games come and go every year or two. WBFH was a big long-liver all things considered.
Good to know McCloud is still alive..... what happened to Hez/biles ???? Aces High is still alive... FHWB needs to advertise more....
What for? No one will play 2 decades old fight sim, which is a pain to even install and run on modern systems.
Need to redesign and recreate end-user software using same graphic and sound resources WBFH for android? With use of acceleration sensors? Or even put android on glasses for visual effects and view control (instead of numpad). How to pass signals from old joystick to smartphone? ..uck, i want that! WarBirds for PC is dead! Long Live WarBirds for Android! Who will program that? i'll be first beta-tester
How about Xbox? iPad? How about creating a mission builder for offline game play for the PC/Mac guys? Have AI pilot skill options, number and flights of enemy aircraft options, save pilots score and have those parameters used in AI pilots. In the old SWOTL game you could create pilots, fly missions in their names and then use those pilots as wing men or command them in other missions. Yes 360 3D glasses fhwarbirds would be great !!!! It is a shame that all this programming energy would just fade away into oblivion.
I had no problems with Win7 and Win10.... still play offline when I have time. how difficult is it to make a Mac version ?
The Alpha when I first heard of FHWB The Omega for when that time comes to say good bye Let's hope not yet.
Yes, we are and are very grateful for all you have done and are doing. What are your plans? What is going to be the future of this game? What would you like to do?
I'm not a responsible person for FreeHost. As for my own opinion - we should move to something like https://www.pinterest.com/explore/virtual-reality-games The Warbirds'97 can run on 1/10th power of a single modern smartphone. Also, we need not so much of rendering. So not much work necessary to bring the NEW GAME into virtual reality. All of us have smartphones, the cost of additional hardware to bring smartphone to our eyes could be very cheap (less than 10 bucks), so we need just a 1-2 programmers who transfer images and sounds to the new platform Easyway
sounds great!!!! About the PC game; What does it take for adding adjustable features to the offline game? It would be great to be able to select what planes the AI pilots use that we may be able to practice against a certain type of plane or a certain progression of types of planes. Even possibly change the number of enemy planes attacking Also I noted in the offline game that whenever the Bf110 arrive they usually make high climb and dives and almost always crash. P38s have a tendency to do almost the same. One more question while I'm writing and it's embarrassing: How does one make adjustments on the joystick?? Can someone explain Deadband, all those segments from 10-100? I've noticed that if I fire guns and cannon with no enemy planes in sight, the plane flies straight with no jumping/shuddering. As I put an enemy in or near the cross hairs and fire, the plane reacts and dances around. Sometimes I think my hand is shaking or the stick is bad or I am over-correcting. I feel embarrassed that after all these years, I've never made any adjustments on the joystick mapping/ control features.
