    IL-2 is quite a bit different from Warbirds, especially against the AI. The AI cheats. It gets a lot more E out of any given aircraft than it should, thus it's a bloody BITCH to B&Z any of the AI craft. Plus the gunnery's a lot harder than WB.

    In Warbirds, heh. My 110C's killed more than a few I-16s, and hasn't been shot down by one in...um...actually I can't recall an I-16 shooting me down in any fighter, in a long, long time. I've lost a few Stukas and some Ju-52s, but no fighters :) Sure, the I-16 turns well, and sure it can put out a decent punch for early war, but it's just so ridiculously SLOW. They have to come screaming in from a big dive to be a threat, much like a Zero. Except...even the =Zero= can run away from them at will. Slooow.

    I've no idea why anyone even flies the I-153. What a pathetically useless plane.

    @curuya
    Hartmann shot down only 1(one) I-16!!!!
    So to read in first part of his war diary in which every airvictory with date,place and planetype he got is registerd!
    his 1st kill was an IL2 5.11.1942
    6th kill was the I-16, 27.3.1943
    That diary ends with kill nr150(LaGG-7,13.12.1943)
    The 2nd part of of it was lost when he was captured+never seen again.(the book ;)
    But i think in 1944 Ratas and I-153 would be not easy to find in combat ;)

    Maybe thats because he came to eastern front at 1942. I think there were already more modern planes in air than i16/i153

    yes...he arrived at 7./JG52 on 10-th October 1942...and La-5's as well as Yak's 7 were mostly taken out by him I think...

    Quite useful plane when defending closed field. Just do not touch fighters and hvys, be low and collect maneuver kills. Wait when Ju drops troops. Then :turret:
