..seems that the LA5 is a mixture from the best Airplanes in this Game! ..faster than 190D...like a P51 and have firepower like a Me110 and able to turn better than a Zero - even in lowspeed. In 4,5 km hight she can do 3 loopings from Level without lost of energy or control, the 190D is no able to make even one! Who have the real datas of this plane? It would be interesting...or is this plane just a result of too much Wodka? Too critical one? 1.This plane is under testing, afair, as far as entire FreeHost too 2.At low altitudes La-5 rulez the world , historically. 3.You may drag La-5 higher than 3-4km (if you manage to ) and beat it. [This message has been edited by -exec- (edited 31 July 2001).]
I fly almost only La-5 when it becomes available in RPS. Trust me, it's NOT faster than FW190! It cant't outrun even A4 in level flight, but can do so in a shallow dive. The common belief that La-5 is faster comes from the wrong tactics used by FW190 pilots. If you have La-5 on your six at low level, don't try to turn if you have plenty of range to the enemy, just run straight and level. La will slowly fall behind or it's pilot will lose his(her) temper and break off the attack. Try to enter a turning fight with La-5 and you're as good as dead, unless you can get some lucky head-on shots on him.

sure La5-FN - great low alt fighter... but it can be 'eaten' by 109 becouse better climb raiting and much better high altitude perfomance. Low level (300ft) max speed test results: LA5FN - 543km/h (WEP off); 568km/h (WEP on) 190D9 - 570km/h (WEP off); 609km/h (WEP on) Summary: 1.) 190D9 without WEP is FASTER than LA5FN with WEP on. 2.) 190D9 WEP ON time is MUCH LONGER than LA5FN WEP ON time.
