This sounds like "But it's Putin's turn to abuse now!"
You can't justify a present abuse by a past one. Nobody's defending the western politicians here.
The same abuses Russia did, against others, with the same type of disinformation.
But it was a different world 20 years ago. I think everyone's expectations are higher now.

And an invasion of Ukraine as the one Putin is conducting, with rockets being fired in Kharkiv one hour ago, is hard to accept as legitimate. And for a reason that is based on a lie.
You think of them as sanctions against Russia, but you should rather think of them as a ceasing of collaboration. Nobody can expect to receive a good treatment, no matter how they behave.

Did NATO invade Serbia, razing its cities to the ground?

    BTW - recent update -
    Nord Stream 2 - Kaput!
There are rumors Poland, Bulgaria and Slovakia will transfer their remaining MIG-29s and Su-25s to Ukraine.
There are also similar rumors about T-72 tanks (Poland alone has several dozens of heavily modified, and another 300 of still serviceable units it barely uses today, as it operates the less obsolete PT-91s and the quite modern Leopard 2s instead).

    "it is DIFFERENT" :D :D :D
here in Russia we are laughing on these words :)
    it is a fingerprint of western-civilization double-gaming!
western fails - it is almost OK, a little objurgation. russian fails - BURN THEM!!!111oneoneone
    :)

few hours ago i read news: seems like it was really russian attack. my sorrow if any civilians were injured. BUT!
one rocket hit the bunker :) and killed at least 2 generals of nazi-part VSU - that's a good news! :) -- only this news turned my opinion that it was really planned by RF.

btw, where your words about rocket explosions and civilians deaths in Donetsk (these days)?
no info from your media? so who lies or gives skewed view?

You know, I am beginning to feel that the sanctions will be actually beneficial to Putin's regime. Many people felt shocked, ashamed and infuriated at the start of this unjust war. But now I am getting an impression that there is some kind of "defensive reaction" brewing, when half the world is ganging up on them. Like: "I am being personally punished with potential collapse of economy just because I did not climb the barricades and did not make a revolution". So now, even if person hates Putin, he or she simply does not have anybody else to turn to, since the rest of the world tuned away, and we are all locked in here in the face of crisis. Perhaps, this was the plan all along?

no. NATO saved their soldiers. opposing to NATO cowards, we send live soldiers to make very sharp cuts.
NATO just bombed (without high-precision weaponry).
what is devastating and harming civils? NATO's method...

does your wood head know that flights over Ukraine is almost fully prohibited? especially something military...
how Poland is going to send MiGs? as dismantled heap of bolts?
or by its own flight? :) easy target for russian S-300 located in Belarus :)

I do believe that sanctions are justified.
    Just 8 years late.
Would they not downplay the Russian invasion of Crimea, the "green people" and the occupation of Donbas, they would not have to react in such an overwhelming manner right now.

Most retail chains here have abandoned selling Russian and Belarusian goods today.
Not because they were forced to do so (there was no decision forcing them to do so), but because they opted to do so.

I don't believe that more than just several percent of people suffers from Russophobia.
But as long as Russians support their government, their suffering will be perceived as justified and even "well-earned".

Retaliation embargoes will be of no use.
Russia is a market of lower significance for most of the industries.
Save maybe for Polish and U.S. poultry and Danemark's pork industries... but your agriculture is still unable to feed you, and your gold reserves are rather indigestible if you attempt to feed people with them.

How about the "IED attack" near Donetsk, by the "ukrainian nazis", in the territory controlled by Putin?

Here's a professional forensic analysis on a scene staged by the Donbass friends of Putin

What kind of person do you think that propaganda piece is addressed to?

    smart - stupid
    informed - uninformed
aware of the political situation - unaware
hard to manipulate - easy to manipulate
    brave - coward

This will show you what Putin thinks of the generic citizen, including yourself.
