Wierd. that comic format examination of Hitler verses Stalin reminds me of how histroy eventually turns into myth.
Some of the "myths" I have heard about the Titans Of Olympus and Great Fuckin Battles In The Gita and Dragons and The End Of The World Coming Of Qetzelqoatl etc etc, well, one day, what happenned between nations and people in eurasia in the last millenium will be just another edition of the GREAT COSMIC COMIC BOOK:
The one the Olympians read and chuckle at.
    Never mind
You don't have to read it.

Finland was not on both sides, Finns were on their own side. They fought to defend their country from all invaders
France was on both sides fighting offensively, so was Italy

They did that in spectacular manner: in 1941 they invaded Soviet Union in alliance with Germany and in 1944 they signed peace treaty with Soviet Union and declared war to Germany. Thus they were able to defend their country from two types of invaders: hords of Asian Bolshevik Comissars and Nazis. Outstanding!
And which country France offended during WWII? Brazil maybe?

Finland's actions were required to maintain safe relations with the mostrous powers of their borders. Both of their alliances existed to maintain the security of the Finn nation...You havent heard of french D.520s fighting Hurricanes in syria in 1941? a minor conflict certainly, but good evidence of the D.520's uber manuverability. Actually i cant think any offensive operation allies italian forces participated in...

    Actually it happened like this.

Germany invaded soviet union from eastern europe. Finnish border was silent. German troops in northern finland were attack ready but couldn't attack without permission from finnish government.
USSR bombed Finnish cities because german forces (in attack readiness) were stationed in northern finland. This gave finns excuse to "defend themselves" which was actually planned attack with germans. Finns failed germans by not going by OKW plan and halting attack after few weeks when finnish speaking areas of karelia were succesfully occupied.

Yes, finns declared war to germany as it was "agreed" so in peace treaty with USSR. However finns informed germans forces well beforehand and agreed secretly of non agressive withdrawal of german forces. As few weeks of german withdrawal had passed USSR started to get clue on what was happening and requested finland to hurry up with elimination of german forces. Finns attacked (altough lightly) german forces without warning. This lead to some sort of semi-war with few hundreth casualties. Both sides were mainly unwilling to fight. And naturally germans felt themselves cheated. As defensive action to ease withdrawal they started using burned ground tactics and burned most cities of northern finland down.

No! It is related to humor. Just imagine: Finland became independant first time in centures due to Bolshevik Comissars, but Finns thought that it is not enough and annexed large part of Russian territory (they are smart). Later they thought (and they had reasons to do so) that they are able to seize all Kola peninsula (Stalin=idiot, yeah? :). After Winter war they lost much more territory then they were proposed to negotiate (they prefered to give off both Hanko and Vyborg insteed of selling Hanko). After 1944 they gave their excuses in form of annexion and contribution. Now this idiot dreams about Ladoga and says that Hitler and Stalin were idiots.
I think that it is very funny: idiot calls other idiots.

New_One, please read some books about the things you speak about.
