i think it is propagandistic lie.
smuggling bombs is very possible, but i doubt it is ever done.
when usarmy occupied bagdhad airport, i recall saddam shouted that americans will see terrific measures from iraq they never seen before. it was very likely that saddam had forces to do that. and what then? that threat was materialised within probably ten guerillas.

Sounds like scaremongering to me and i fervently hope it is, as a nuclear attack on the US would see a large portion of the middle east become uninhabitable for a couple of centuries.

~peek~ you want to repeat 911, when iraq was sacrificed because of elusive non-iraqi terrorists?

Exec, you have misread his post (I did the first time I looked at it too).

He is saying that he sincerely hopes this report is scaremongering, because if it were true and the US were attacked, he envisages a scenario where the Middle East would be wiped out in retaliation.

The non-use of commas is what I think makes it a little confusing.

Stolen from the link: "Al-Asuquf: No; one only has to observe recent events. The disrespect of the Kyoto treaty.........."

Damn, that's the first terrorist I've ever heard to threat with nuclear strike against air pollutioning.

(Somebody needs some :help: and/or :@drunk: and maybe little  )

There has been talk of "Suit Case" nukes being smuggled into the U.S. ever since 9-11, mostly on "Wacko" late night radio shows. I think if they had one they would have used it by now. I'd be more worried about the so called "Dirty Bomb", convential explosives and nuclear material, but then again I think if they had one they would have used it. This is what terrorism is all about, terrorizing. I doubt the U.S. would nuke the mid-east randomly, I mean after all with terrorists being almost shadows who do you nuke first, it isn't like WWII with a defined enemy.

Suit case bombs are only big enough to blow up a hotel room - LOL - really, though, they are quite weak for an atomic weapon & they are not a nuclear weapon & of course there is a very big difference in explosive abilities (the legendary suitcase bomb is less than 10 kilotonnes, not half as big as the bombs used in Japan - while a man's nuclear weapon - a real city buster - is in the range of megatonnes)

I could have written that ...

I think we all know that it could be done.

People knew it before 9/11. No reason to start freaking out right now. If anyone would be dumb enough to go ahead with it then he and his whole country would be dead meat. No doubt about it that the US would retaliate with full force.

uncle sam don't retaliate since ww2. uncle sam just bomb whatever wants to bomb, and intrude wherever wants to intrude. "after doesn't mean because". uncle sam invaded iraq not because of 911. it just used 911 as one of factors to justify own agression.

I didn't include that part in my answer. Sure, they do what they want in the world, but you can only imagine what would happen when they would need to retaliate against a nuclear attack.
