i've made it, and it's working good finaly: cut wires of twist, put them on a new potentiometer stuck on trottle. one thing strange: when wires were cut, all the joy began to bug. i though it was totaly broken by my fault (i broke the original potentiometer pulling it), but after the soldering, anything gone in a good way. i've not tryed it much time, but it seems to be more precise than twist and works like a trim.
Bugginess is because the groundwire is plugged off, it disturbs the balance between all other pots. So it can not calibrate properly. (I suppose) But WTG anyway! It works!
Damn I miss that stick so much. The evo is great for almost any game, except FH. Im gonna take it back to the shop and get the most up to date Logitech. Looks like a nice stick. -glas- btw wtg Tig, setup looks great!!
can you demonstrate us this? http://personne.newmail.ru/JoyTester2/ programmed by rgreat. do that slowly or moderately, not fast.
p.s.you can see various charts here, though discussion is russian: http://forum.sukhoi.ru/showthread.php?t=16736 show begins from second page
Since it works, WTG! I tried to do a different thing: making a MS Sidewinder 3D Pro Plus working with an X-35 throttle from Saitek. I made the tremendous mistake of buying the X-36 combo (painstick + throttle, game port version) when all the world was saying it was pure crap. It was relatively cheap but it was absolutely crap, the world was right... But getting rid of nipple-twist rudder was too attractive... I removed every connection inside the throttle, diodes and resistors, and soldered directly throttle and rudder pots on the connector and plugged the Sidewinder and the X-35 with a Y-cable to audio board game port. It didn't worked, second biggest delusion in my whole life (first was cheap sex and always available at will). I don't know if the MS is too digital to work with a piece of analog as the X-35 (pins supposed to bring throttle and rudder signals from SW to game port were removed from Y-cable connectors) or if I made some scheme error.
well , as i saw on ur link, tryed to do a spin with stick, and different stable positions near center with 3rd axe. have fight with it today, need to practise to manage it with the trottle hand, old reflex hard to leave.
@ muf-lo: if pots are the same on MS than x-36, u must have done a mistake, opinion of a man who do electronic like cooking food
This may be very true but my doubt is if the MS stick has pots or some processor that drives the axis movements. I know I bought it because it was optical and I'm not going to open it in any way. It works so smoothly and I'm totally scared about ruin it till a point I have to buy a Logitech because such 1998-built joystick is no longer produced... I thought that an Y-cable properly built was able to do the trick. Maybe it wasn't so properly built As it was stated in another thread, I noticed myself the "joystick-all-stuck-to-the-left-during-a-furious-furball-between-F2-and-F8" bug in the BigMed arena some ToD ago. It was really a bad experience to run away from blood thirsty cons on 6 thinking to have a joystick heading to the trash bin... I work in electronic but I made studies for being a professional chef de cuisine. I've even worked in Swiss to learn French but je ai oubliŠ¹ toute choses...
i use a driver that programmed ivan4/ivaniv. it recodes mouse movements to movements of virtual joystick. i fly warbirds with virtual joystick.
I had a logitech 3D, a MS PP and an X-45 (currently): Logitech by far the worst of the bunch, both for accuracy and lasting. I suggest you to avoid it.
