I am hoping to get a resonable number of JG13 to fly over the week end comming.
But Odiseo and I feel that the Gold side rather lacks the co-ordination of the Red or Alied side.
It seems more interested in solo fighter scores rather than field capture??
As new boys this may seem a cheek but what do you all think ??

    Well Boss,
'Cept for the Castros wreaking their usual havoc, I see most of the Gold fighter jocks running continuous fighter sweeps, to rack up kills.
I've found (for the most part) the only way to get fighter support is by happenstance (i.e. joining up with a big raid of he-man 'quake-fighters'). Even this is risky business, as it's an 'every man for himself' ordeal.
This leaves me to do solo raiding, which certainly helps the quake-fighters get kills, but does nothing for game results.
I figure, if we're goining to have a positive effect on the game, we'll have to bring our own fighter support.
With any luck, a few savvy pilots will help out? I mean, it's a good chance for them to pick off some easy kills...

Yes I agree, Unfortunatly some of the keenest of JG13 also are the most tied up with work.

There are people playing as a team but its very easy to see a Red dot and abandon the "Plan" for a quick figher conflict [IMG]

Im allways willing to escort well planned raid. I dont dive after fighters and leave big friends alone[IMG] I only clear them nothing else is important.

Yes i fly much fighter sweeps too, but organised ones with clear objectives. (cap etc.)

Glad to here that illo, as I say we are just "new boys" so are only going by limited experiance of W Bs althought there is a tendence with Red Baron for similar diffrence between Allied and German forces,
The German side tends to be more Lone Wolfy,
suicide jockeys, Attack and die taking as many down with them as they can despite often being in Squads, where as the Allied from our point of view seem to be working to a master plan Lol. [IMG]

well im with illo on some parts. when i log on alone i usaly just head to the nearest battle and rack up some kills(or deaths in most cases ) but if i log in with frineds we do one of two things. 1. go do fighter CAPs being wingman for each other or we hop up in some 110 with a 52 behind us and head out for a base under radar. We are pretty effective when we do this but we also like to keep it to our selves because if we advertise next thing we know we got 10+ golds hdg to same base and one of them always goes above radar. so we try to stay on private channels and dont tell people what were doing.

its been a long time since i havent joined, but i always love a good organized raid. just that its not always that there is someone willing to plan it all or people with the patience (and connection) to carry one out.

but hey.. plans are always welcome! if youre ever going to make on, announce it and there will be pilots willing to join. at least me. [IMG]

    when I type:"fighter/bomber needed on channel X"
nobody is coming or even answering me.
    when pepole did answer me
    I remember we were:
'odisss', 'moggie', me and another pilot
we took two small fields in 1 hour or so
    and there was no recapture!
    start flying bombers!

Hello yes we do fly bombers mostly as you will see on the Squad Bomber Score list < ) JG13 Loki,s Kinder.

But often you find you are already engaged in another flight when help is asked for , I encorage all my pilots to stay with there plane and not eject just to go else where.I am glad {JG13}Lt.Odisseo managed to work with you for sucess, he has taken to Warbirds extremly well, he is also a great Red Baron pilot as well, with many kills there, where he is part of Jorgumangr our Bomber Jasta.

    Hi Spitkillers!

It is true, most of the axis fighters want to gain kills then instead capture fields.
It is like the real world was...the LW never was a big strategic ground supporter like the red army airforce was.
And so is the JG26, we would like to support Bomber and protect them but if there is no bomber to protect we go for searching allies and down them.

By the way JG26 and finish fighter arm rules!!

All the best and kill allie planes, Alexej!

most golds are gold cuz of the better fighters. at least they're supposed to be.
and so you may presume that they are fighters, not bombers. and since there are little bombers, there arent much missions to escort.
and like you said, when there is, we are in flight. thats why you should wait a while in TWR to give fighters time to get their kills and RTB. I did that once, for a JU52 raid and after 10 minutes the runway was full.

i personally go to the nearest fight to *try* to rack kills, because i never see anyone inviting for a raid. then when im in the TWR, i check the radar and see some buffs going alone, without saying anything.

btw: red is the same sometimes. their buffs always attack by them selves, without escort. (IMHO)

    cya!

    Finaly some discussion about this.

My current and my old squad (AFVS and Bakers) always tryed to have organized missions in the squad and with other squads. There even was AJO (Axis Joint Ops). Maybe we can revive this.

One of the squads (usually bakers or jg52) mounted a mission plan to a marked day. Each squad would play a diferent role in that mission (escorting, bombing, etc). Grobar organized several of them.

JG13.RtM.Gmac, I'll try to bring some AFVS pilots at that time so we can do some organized mission.

Alex, Blitzkrieg *happened* because of the LW`s excellent tactical ground suport. But WB has very few to do with WWII - here everyone flies as he likes - doesn`t follow orders.

On AFVS meetings we do most often ground sorties because what is the point to gather many pilots if you going just to hunt some reds? Unfortunately AFVS meetings summed last 5-6 hours out of 168 hours in week.

The AJO proved not to work - people simply couldn`t gather - out 10 people in one squad came 1-2 and the AJO instead of the expected 20 pilots (everything layed down in plans) had 6-7.

I`m thinking now about forming something like supersquad - several gold squads to have their meetings coincide - AFVS have good experience with regular meetings and should be able to apply it such events.

PS: Whenever gawong flies for golds, there is always a buff in the sky. [IMG]
