WTG rgreat He-177 looks great!! [IMG]

About He-177 speed: I tried offline and on different altitudes I could get about 400km/h level with no load. RL top speed was about 472-490km/h.

And about divespeeds: He-177 was planned to be a divebomber! [IMG] (HitlerЄs another brilliant idea..) Well it sucked in that, but still it could do 400mph in dive (620km/h). Offline it started shaking at 500km/h and lost elev at 550km/h.

As for diving with Greif, I can say that it really intentionned as a dive bomber.
If I'm not mistaken badly, Goering (WWI ace and Minister of Luftwaffe) himself watched after He-177 project. Heinkell were shocked with this idea, and converted Greif to conventional heavy bomber as soon as Goering died.
BTW, RGreat - looks like your He-177A is very similar to Ju-88A. It climbs like Junkers, and moreover, has aerial dive brakes [IMG].
I love this device (especially for quick descending after the flight), but does really Greif-A3/R2 carried dive brakes?

    IAS, Indicated airspeed?
-doku->RL top speed was about 472-490km/h.
    TAS, True airspeed?
    Check it again, please.

    To whom it may concern

I suggest Axis bomber pilots to check the Flight Data and Ordnance of He-177A-3/R2 compared to B-24D.

As for turrets, I already sent a complete bug report to RGreat.

    My tests say this:
*He-177 climbs only one minute faster up to 15000ft, but for 20000 ft lose the advantage.
*He-177 level top speed is about 15% higher than Liberator's
*Bomb load of 3000kg (6*500kg GPB and 12*250kg GPB) for short ranges is not included, even when He-177 is capable in carrying 4000kg(4*1000) and 6000kg(2*1000+2*2000)!
*He-177 supposed to be fragile comparing to B-24D.
    *He-177 has aerial dive brakes.

I may mistake, but I think that balancing the power (the only and principal issue of He-177's appearance at FH) RGreat must give Greif 6*500 and 12*250 egg-kits. This is my personal opinion.

What do you think of it?

"...and in some types even went into action as tank-busters carrying huge 50 or 75mm caliber"

    my data shows :
    Motor: DB 606
    Leistung: 2 x 2700 PS
    Vmax: 480 km/h
    Reichweite: 3700 km
    Gipfelhцhe: 8800 m

and rgreat can u add in the next version of 3d one of those paint files pls

    http://www.unsere-luftwaffe.de/archiv/kampfflz/he177_b.gif

guess the first He177 on this pic is one of those 50 or 75mm cannon He177

ah rgreat ...i forgot to ask the Me262 was mostly used as fighter bomber also ....
guess then must be the other version add to the standard load also

    24 x R4M Rockets (optional)

R4M (Rakete 4kg. Minenkopf) rockets were fired from wooden launch rails mounted underwing. With a velocity similar to the Mk 108 cannon, they could be aimed exactly the same as the cannon.

"They could be let off 1,100 meters away from the target - and from this range continued until they represented a field of fire of over 30m x 14m. This meant that by releasing all his rockets at once against a close formation of bombers a pilot couldn't miss!"
    Johannes Steinhoff

but i think the reds would be pissed then [IMG]
    was just a thought
