Here is no winter this year.
Normally there's snow from November till March. Sometimes it melds down before Xmas, sometimes not. Not this year. There's NO snow. Only at hills. Temperatures are about 10deg higher than usual. In Scotland where I was about to go working as ski instructor this winter is NO snow either.

Imagine how much more heat the planet is receiving with much less snow and ice reflecting it back to the space. Moreover at the times of melting, few meters of snow or ice work like temperature battery - it takes a lot of heat to melt it down. In other words planet here in central/northern Europe is being heated much more than normally. How will the next winter look like? Imagine this can be just the begining..

i remember few years back there was always snow, some sunny cold days... only moments i used to like at this time of year...

with every year its getting warmer,
winter means now rain, strong winds killin ppl, cracking trees, demolishing buildings..

i hate this time even more now

100 some kms sw of you, we got 25-30 cm snow early dec, all went away...
Then "for the kiddies" it came a few cm's right after 24dec... stayed a couple of days..

Now it has been 5 to 10 centigrade almost three weeks... usually it's -10 to -15 here.
Sux, but as You said, it's good for the fuel bills.

Funny you should say that, we had an absolute deluge of snow overnight :)

I woke up this morning to 4 inches of it on my car. It felt like I was driving to work in an igloo!

I think winter is on the way big time for the UK.

cool, some 15 inches more and mb i'm coming after all :)

    @tipiss
global winds blow from the west so that makes pretty continental weather in most of North America; weather changes don't seem to be evident over there
in my eyes you are lucky :)

where my father lives, in Alps we had snow for about two consecutive weeks. My brother's car was under about 12 cm of snow, and we had to dig to exit the house. I think there's winter, but it has gone as crazy as the world itself, and maybe soon it will snow in Sahara....

C'mon man, that obviously not snow. Looks more like Lada in (really) big foam bath....

    airfax :@drunk:

btw, no snow here either. Read on paper though that weather was like this -73, -82, -94, (last century), so it's not necessarily at new phenomenon...
