Here is the reason I would never drive an enzo as my dream car....

My friend has a 1988 Nissan maxima, he got in a small wreck, it has front end damage. I went with him and am still helping him replace the bumper/hood/radiator. There are about 8 bolts to many that secure the bumper to the hood- and the radiator basicly wont come out without the entire crossmember or engine coming out....

An enzo would have even more senseless work and tight crevesces to try and get the car apart so you could work on it.

Belts are ruber- when your entire system runs on something that streches much easier than steel at up to 12k RPM, the belt will wear out relitively quickly. Thats why smart racers buy timeing gears instead of a timing chain or a serpentine belt system.

Yep, Nissan has that shitty feature. When I look under the hood, I say myself: "Fuck..." Everything is packed so tightly that nothing may be done without special equipment: too many places cannot be accessed just because a hand does not fit in the spaces.

So buy a 1,6l Ford Taunus 1973. On a rainy day one can hide under the hood and still keep working on it...plenty of room. :D
    [IMG]
    (I had red though...)

    Or 1.3l Escort from 1976.
(the one I had was "poison" green. It actually hurted eyes to look at it so I never washed it. Helped a little...)

    airfax :@drunk:

ps. to compare Nissan Maxima -88 and Ferrari Enzo is (IMO) a bit strange. No one repairs enzos at parking lot by themselves....

Airfax, no one repairs their Enzo's period. You would send it of to some shop, pay a ridiculous price to get it fixed "serviced" and If you didnt, you flat out wouldnt drive cause there is no way in hell you could get the thing to run.

I use the compairison airfax, because it shows how even something so much less complex than an Enzo is still a bitch to work on.

If that escort and taunus are the cars with the biggest hood space europe has to offer, you should really come to america or look at some american classic cars. By 1970, most all of GM's cars with a performance model "like z28 or SS" could fit and run any engine from their strait 6cyl, to the 454 and 502 chevy big blocks.

Hanging inside the hood of a 1964 Impala, I Can get my hand anywhere around the engine without to much probloms, you disconect 2-4 bolts, your radiator comes right out. The bumper? Easy as pie.

The simple fact is, when I hear things like "power door locks" or "air conditioning" all I can think is "fuck man, your shit out of luck because you will need to pay out your ass for someone to fix a problom as lame as that".

I know about the repairment of enzo. That's why I mentioned it. But if one can afford the enzo, then there should be no problem to pay it's maintenance either :D

About the maxima thing...I guess you're doing something wrong. Radiators should come out (at that age japs) rather easily. I've own 3 of those. Out of those 3, 2 I had to change the damn radiator. :)

And those ford's. I think Europe has bigger hoods to offer, but those were my examples, pair of cars that I own. IMO Volvo 240 series might have more space, but back then when I purchased that Taunus, it looked so hilarious...engine looked like someone had stolen half of it :)
Besides, I've seen Volvo 242 with 454cu V8 in it. And that model has normally straight 5 in it. So the engine changing thing isn't totally all-american possibility.
    Saab 96 from 70's with Fords 2,3L V6 comes to mind :D

And I really don't like 70's-80's american cars.

You dont like muscle cars? I think airfax may be gay...

Your maximas were probably in accidents before then :) Cause here in america, we got bolts all over the shit, japs must just really hate us. If youd choose a Maxima over a camaro, your crazy.

I'd choose any car before a Camaro. And before any other american car. You guys only know how to put big engines in big cars. Here we say: Big car, small dick. Complexes compensation. Maybe you're the gay in the end, allsy

Really broz? Thats all we know how to do? Because last I checked the GT40 and the Galaxy could mob the shit out of ferrari and porsche in competitive classes at all the races. So obiously it want just big engines.

Ever remember me saying anything about a 340 sixpack? Or 283 chevy small block? Small engines, big power, good turning car with lots of pep.

Any man who doesnt awe at a 1967 Camaro is a dumbshit who has never seen the car in real life. Besides- in america, we say big car means long life.

Ever see a honda after being hit at even just 25mph? The shit gets fucked up. Any classic american car would shrug off such a hit with just a scratch to the bumper.

So tell me broz, which totally awesome auto mobiles roll out of salmanca? 0? Oh thats cool, cause thats what I thought.

Muscles,muscles...I really don't care about muscles on car that much. Maxima gets top speed somewhere around 220-230km/h, and that more than enough in country that has max 120km/h speed limit. Why would I want a car accelerates fast but which driving abilitys don't match the power. Maybe it's different in US, long straight roads, and all that. What I want/need is a compact, fast and agile car (pedestrians are getting quickier). Something like Volvo V40T4, Opel Astra GTC or Golf GTI. Although Audi RS6 or S4 might be nice to test. You see, anything over 200hp is wasted money.

Why would you want a car that accelerates fast? so u can chop cunts off the mark. why have more than 200hp? to help u achieve this. btw, just cause it does accelerate fast, doesnt mean its driving ability's will suffer, especially if you know how to drive it.

GT40? Is that a game? All your oppinions are based in games? Then why whine about I153? Game says it's good. Believe the game

Dunno about american cars. Anyway, that's not representative of american cars. Like if you say that European cars have big engines because Mercedes SL600 has a 6.000 cc engine.

I know i saw a Renault Espace crashed at 130kmh (my car, after i slipped with ice on the road), and i know i owe my life to that car. And it had only a 1900cc engine. And my friend saved his life in a Citroën BX, a 1600cc car. Our cars might not be big, but they're the safest cars in all categories

0 cars from Salamanca, yes, but because this is a universitary city. You know what is university? You know what is culture? that's what we get out of here. You might have a problom if you came here ;)

Ok, then i don't get the point of what was allsop refering to. He checked GT40 in what? In real races? What races?
Btw, is that a commercial car, or just a race car? Because ferraris and porsches are normal cars.

I like to have cunts as hole :D. So no need in my case about hp's in that. The only thing where I'd like to have "powerful" car is when I pass someone. The acceleration from 80 to 140 km/h is crucial then. Besides, it's not the start that counts, it's the speed at the end. Many times I've seen people with cars that has more hp's than mine, taking off from trafficlights like it's Le Mans. And 1km later they block my driving, mainly because they are gutless little pussyasswhineybastards, whose father has told them not to overspeed. So I have to pass them. And to now I've managed to do it without V8 :D

And only way to drive fast a normal 70's american "muscle" car, is to use the
whole 8-lane speedway to make a turn.
