He didn't retire in style after all he shouldn't have knocked the player down with his head. I think the referee did a great job in this final match.

WTG Italy you're the WC winner

yopu are right, he didn´t ,he played a wc final in is last match , he scored a penalty in panenka style, (which is something that everyone could do , u don´t need guts and talent to do that) he played a good game until that (censored) called materazzi made him to loose control ,and the 4th referee told the referee to show him the red cad (i dunno where was the 4th ref in asu vs italy macht ..nah definetley he sucks and he didn´t deserve any credit.
Anway i would like to know your list of football heroes that have retired with style .I´m quite ignorant, but i´m sure that you will bring me a list of 4-5 players that have retired playing his last season in a top rank club ,and playing a wc final as his final match and scoring in it, i´m curious...

WTG Zizou! you are the greatest ever ,thx for your football :@prayer: :@prayer:

You know, people are not necessarily judging him, but retire in style he did not. He will still be remembered as a great player but no doubt he kinda blew his grand exit from the soccer scene.

If you had actually bothered to READ my post you'd have noticed that that's exactly what I'm NOT saying.

It is judging the way he ended his career, not his qualities as a player / person. If you want to rule out any kind of judging whatsoever, what can you do in life other than sit down in a dark corner and zip your mouth until you die? ;)

nah sorry i know what you mean ;) but i still consider that everybody should consider his whole career and his highlights in his last match... anway i agree 100% with spuint ,that kind of matches are another history, we shouldn´t be judging what zidane did.

anyway wtg Italy u have made a great wc!

    seems they are...
well that was very low what he did and people will remember this
they remember maradona scoring a hand goal
they remember cantona beating the shit out of a supporter with his shoe
they will remember zidane punching with his baldie head

you can't say he retired in a good way, can you?
You want a list of players who retired, let's not look too far and wait who'll decide to end their international career after this WC
I can tell you that - you won't find worse endings than what Zidane did today

why shouldn't we be judging him? you'd be judging anyone else...

why not? appart from the deserved red card did he play a terrible match?
that´s people prob if when they think about someone , they see the bad things he ve done at first.
i´m not sayinyg that this was the best final match for his career´s end but sayin this is the worse way to end it....he was playing a wc final, he made an amazing tournament and was considered for wc´s best player award and he was sounding too for next year´s golden ball, wtf his final match was a wc final! how many people can say that?, imo thats far better than playing in minor leagues just to earn some money because you need it or retiring after a pathethic wc.
how do you know that? anway is too easy to judge him , we don´t know what the fuck happened before zidane whas shown the red card, in that kind of matches there are many emotions and feelings that are only known by the players, im sure that zidane feels repentant for that red card, not because he has a pathethic retirement, just because he could have retired as any football player in the world would wish.

I´m sure that people (at least everyone one i know) remembers maradona ´s amazin goal first ( the best goal ever as most people say) and because he made the most amazin display of football talent ever made in a wc.
the same with cantona...what´s your problem with football top players? ;)

lol hey, hes special case - and not for his worshippers, ya know
it started on the begginging of this wc, when most ppl demanded his retiring when we could name dozens of players who played much weaker and nobody demanded them to retire ;p
if his antagonists give him special terms, why supporters cant?
