    Italian style of winning in footbal is to suffer until the end... In Euro 2000 we deserved the cup and France won, this time France played better but we won. This is the beauty of footbal (they say) and I think it is one of reasons why some countries don't really like it, it's too similar to a game at which we all are amateurs: life :)

    Actually I liked to see that Zidane still has strong emotions on field. Some of the professionals seems to move into zone in where they are in "work". Win or loose, no matter, as far as paycheck arrives in time.

    Besides, I don't know what Materazzi said to him....

    At least he didn't kick the guy in ground :D

    Christiano Ronaldo. Without a doubt he's the best ever.

    wtg france ! btw that was a nice trip.
    Zizou...u couldn't leave the foot without knock out an Italian :D.
    but the 4th ref is video ref or not?? that is the black point.
    lost control was the mistake to not do cause french team had total control of game at this moment. strange as both guys where laughing and suddently with some words, zizou gone out of himself: i'd like to know these words.
    bb all old guys who made dream us for many years....

    Zidane was, and still is IMHO, one the best 5 players all around the world.
    No way to forget his career for that - really really stupid - american football tackle; I'm sure he realized his mistake after few seconds.

    BTW, where Blatter was ?

    You know...
    this was his last game, EVER, he already is a hero of the game, he's got the best player award right there in his pocket, there was a 1-1 tie, penalties were sure to come
    and the moron steps up and fucking knocks down another player
    now it doesn't get more stupid than this
    besides him ruining his last appearance, he weakend his team in the last minutes of A WORLD CUP FINAL (what you like to point out so much)
    is that what a captain should do?
    is that a behaviour worthy of the best player in the world?

    I will judge him, and so will everyone else who is not biased and blinded like you are
    He's on the national team, a captain, looked at by everyone, cheered for, expected to play his best, to show what real football is about
    and he fucking loses his cool on the field
    it's his job, he's got some responsibilities, there are some rules
    now he's gotta pay the price

    and he could have been THE ONE player to retire in full glory, without a spec on him, THE GREATEST, I'd say perfect even
    you know what's so great about perfect?

    it has no specs

    Fratelli d'Italia
    L'Italia s'è desta
    Dell'elmo di Scipio
    S'è cinta la testa.
    Dove'è la Vittoria?.
    Le porga la chioma;
    Chè schiava di Roma
    Iddio la creò.
    Stringiamoci a coorte,
    Siam pronti alla morte:
    Italia chiamò!

    Noi siamo da secoli
    Calpesti e derisi,
    Perchè non siam popolo,
    Perchè siam divisi;
    Raccolgaci un'unica
    Bandiera, un speme;
    Di fonderci insieme;
    Già l'ora suonò.
    Stringiamoci a coorte,
    Siam pronti alla morte:
    Italia chiamò!

    Uniamoci, amiamoci;
    L'unione e l'amore
    Rivelano ai popoli
    Le vie del Signore:
    Giuriamo far libero
    Il suolo natío;
    Uniti per Dio
    Chi vincer ci può?.
    Stringiamoci a coorte,
    Siam pronti alla morte:
    Italia chiamò!

    Dall'Alpi a Sicilia
    Dovunque è Legnano
    Ogni uom di Ferruccio:
    Ha il cuor e la mano.
    I bimbi d'Italia
    Si chiamano Balilla:
    Il suon d'ogni squilla
    I vespri suonò.
    Stringiamoci a coorte,
    Siam pronti alla morte:
    Italia chiamò!

    Son giunchi che piegano
    Le spade vendute:
    Già l'Aquila d'Austria
    Le penne ha perdute.
    Il sangue d'Italia
    E il sangue polacco
    Bevè col Cosacco
    Ma il cor le bruciò
    Stringiamoci a coorte
    Siam pronti alla morte:
    Italia chiamò!

    Italian brothers,
    Italy has arisen,
    With Scipio's helmet
    binding her head.
    Where is Victory?
    Let her bow down,
    For God has made her
    The slave of Rome.
    Let us gather in legions,
    Ready to die!
    Italy has called!

    We for centuries
    Have been downtrodden and derided,
    Because we are not a people,
    Because we are divided.
    Let one flag, one hope
    Bring us together;
    The hour has struck
    For us to join forces.
    Let us gather in legions,
    Ready to die!
    Italy has called!

    Let us unite and love one another;
    For union and love
    Reveal to peoples
    The way of the Lord
    Let us swear to free
    Our native soil;
    If we are united under God,
    Who can conquer us?
    Let us gather in legions,
    Ready to die!
    Italy has called!

    From the Alps to Sicily,
    Everywhere it is Legnano;
    Every man has the heart
    and hand of Ferruccio.
    The children of Italy
    Are all called Balilla;
    Every trumpet blast
    Sounds the (Sicilian) Vespers.
    Let us gather in legions,
    Ready to die!
    Italy has called!

    Mercenary swords
    Are feeble reeds,
    And the Austrian eagle
    Has lost his plumes.
    This eagle that drunk the blood
    of Italy and Poland,
    togheter with the Cossack,
    But this has burned his gut.
    Let us gather in legions,
    Ready to die!
    Italy has called!

    Look al, i´m not defending him saying that he did well in the red card, and that will probably will be remembered as one if not the worst moment of his whole career.

    All top crack players including the famous top 4 (maradona pele cruyff and di estefano) had moments like that in his career but i guess that at the end we football fans remember the talent showed by them in the stadiums instead of those moments where they acted as morons (they are human btw)

    About Judging it...look i ve never played a wc final, i can´t judge cause i don´t know whats the feelings and emotions you have when you play one match like this (those are far from my knowledge), and btw i dunno what the hell materazzi said. Imo we can judge the facts surrounding the incident ( ex. if the card was deserved, if ref the took the right decission...) but judging what he did...i can´t and not cause i´m biased.

    What i don´t really undestand about what u said is that 15 days ago you were asking for him to retire cause he was playing like a grandpa(but u didn´t say anything about any other crack player as i said),then as he started to play well you started to say that this could be because of media and fans pressure wtf the first one that wants to play good and have fun is him, he doesn´t need (as any other talented player) to be told to do so .and at the end after an amazing wc an sounding for the wc best player and for next year´s golden ball award...he did a way stupid act and suddenly you came with your "retiring with style" thing but with a totally different argument (this time it wasn´t his grandpaness thing again., now it´s about how he looses control in decisive matches)...then why is zidane not retiring with style because you have something against bald guys? xD na honestly why? my opinion is that he didn´t put to best possible end to his las wc and his career...well as u said the perfect one, but not doing that does not mean that he ruined his end...thats going from one pole to the other one.

    Maybe you havent enjoyed him as much as i did but thats just a personal fact, i thank him for all the good football weekends and all the samples of talent that he gave is every sunday when he played in rm (i guess that juve fans will think the same) and i thank god budha , muhhamad or whatever fer letting me to see him playing .

    lol :D

    imo this might be the best thing about this incident. it was the first time, afaik, that video evidence was used during a match.
    i hope they'll think more seriously about using it finally

    @ zidane worshipers: maybe it will be called Zidane Judging System :D

    there some controversy about that, imo that would make ref´s work more precise but also it would slow down football a lot...

    anyway it should be used in all crucial ref´s decissions (f.e aus vs italy penaly) xD

    true
    i guess it can at least be used in the situations when the play is stopped anyway, goals from off-side for example. or in situations like Zidane's.

    but i wouldn't like to see the game stopped to check on video if there was a soft foul the field refs didn't see

    And of course with all the ref´s headphone conversation recorded in a public domain "black box" xD.
