A friend of mine has a question, an I figure my fellows here are the best knowledge base:

-Does anyone know if there is an online arena that is based on modern helicopter warfare-Cobra, etc?:dunno:

-What is the best PC sim(or Playstation) for helicopter warfare?:help:

Thanks for any input, much appreciated.

The best PC heli sim is Longbow 2 -- but it is difficult to find these days, it's been out of print for several years.

There are no MMP flight sims post-WW2, so no helicopters :(

If I remember correctly, I think Janes produced a package game named Apache Gold, or Longbow Gold, or something like that, that included 2 or 3 versions of helicopter sims, including Longbow 2. Maybe that version is easier to find than the Longbow 2 game by itself.

    Good luck with your search.

Heli sims, try team apache, I love the flying model in it, it's devestating, the degree of realism in that flight model is nearly unreachable...

after team apache there was very recently team alligator, for all those russian chauvinists... splendid graphics combined with a realistic gaming experience... if my pc would be powerful enough to render it ok, but that's not the case...

jane's combat simulations (which stopped making simulations :( ) has made the renown longbow series... of which I don't own a copy in any kind... legal or illegal

    there is: BANG! Gunship elite,

there is Gunship, released about a year ago made by the creators of gunship 2000 a sim that featured a.o. 0H-58 Kiowa
OH-6 Defender (army MD500), AH-1J (or so) Cobra, AH-64 Apache, and some others I think, featured the S/U/CH-60 Blackhawk too

long time since I checked the recent game releases, ever since gamecenter stopped existing I haven't gotta up to date with game news, I'm starting to check gamespot more and more recently but I fail in liking the quick accesability of it...

I'll try to give you more info, I hope this post is of any use to you

I insist you take a look at the ones I mentioned too... hence they were highly recommended amongst the gaming journalism community...

Thanks for input. More than I expected. And add more ideas if you think of them.
