    The scoring categories are:

    Kill Ratio
    Fear Factor
    Innovation
    Production Rating
    Service Length

    The positions are:

    10. F22/Raptor

    9. Sea Harrier

    8. Sopwith Camel

    7. Me262

    6. Spitfire

    4. Mig 15

    4. F86 Sabre

    3. F4 Phantom

    2. F15C Eagle

    1. P51 Mustang

Apart from the obvious bias towards modern fighters, there is a very obvious bias towards US built aircraft.

The omission of the Me109 and Zero is laughable. I dont know whether it is the poor categorisation or blind patriotism.

The above is from the program 'Dscovery Wings: Top Ten Fighters' program on Sky TV now. Interesting to note that their website has a completely different top 10.

    F-22???
How many are deployed at this time?
I know they WILL be deployed, sometime in the near future.
how the fuck can 3 operational aircraft have any effect? How can that stupid television thing include a plane not yet deployed?
And yes, the ommission of the A6M and the Bf-109 [and the FW-190 and the Yak 9 and the MiG29 and the MiG-21 is...um. I guess top ten is one of those dumb figures. Top ten is crazy when what is needed is a top 50 or something]

fear factor is all in teh paint job.
P-40 with shark is fearful, SPAD with top hat or swan is not.
Li-2 is not scary, but paint in big words on the side of your Li-2
    "Contents: HORNY NIGGERS"
and maybe you add some fear factors for someone

Fear Factor. I think I know what it means.
German Infantry feared and hated "Yaks."
ALL Soviet ground attacks were accompanied by the fearful screams, in German,
    "YAKS!!!!"
    And
    "God damn those Yaks!"
I doubt many of the planes coming down to harrass Wermacht were yaks. There were plenty diffrent planes in the air flying for Soviet Air Forces.
But there was a huge fear factor and for some reason, german boys just called anything single engined and performing ground attacks "yaks."
Not sure about the yelling of the word "Schturmovik!!!" as it is three syllables and what a guy would often hear would be:
    "Achtung!: Scht" [BOOOOOOM!]
Yak was easily said, easily heard, fewer young men would be screaming "What did you say?"

In Western Europe there were far more screams of "TIGER!" than there were actual Tigers....
    Same sort of thing.
A young, scared brit foundering in the polder didn't care to articulate:
    "Panzerkampfwagon IVG!!!!!!!!!"
    he would just scream
    TIGER!!!!!
