of the Iranian Air Force and Army. It shows scenes of a recent maneuvre near the iraqi border. There are shown: AH-1J SeaCobra made in Iran without US-license Bell 214 made in Iran without US-license Bell 206 also made in ... you know Chinook F-14 Tomcat with new camo F-4 Phantom Chieftain-tanks and so on Download-Link: http://rapidshare.de/files/4969821/IRIAA_3min.WMV.html Instructions for download: 1) Click on above URL to open the webpage for clip 2) Scroll all the way down page and click on "FREE" version of service. 3) Now you are forced to wait for Approx 20 seconds before the actual Download link (URL) becomes visible and available to you. 4) Once the actual URL is visible just "SAVE AS" on link and download file on your Hard Disk..
All the years of Embargo have made the iranians to copy other things. So they produce now AH1J, Bell 206, Bell 214, Mercedes trucks, G3-, UZI and M16 guns and even an own fighter. Looks like a larger F5F Tiger-II and has 2 fins. Funny plane
They do airshows. Every year there is a large one in Kish Island, where they present their designs. Kish 2004 http://www.mig-21.de/Deutsch/Publikationen/FLUG_REVUE0203.htm Kish 2005 http://www.acig.org/artman/publish/article_490.shtml And the Shafagh-prototype is already flying - the iranian chief designer of this project is a woman. Iranian Sharia is not like the one in Afghanistan.
I'll post while I await the download... Back in the days of the Shah, half the guys I knew I worked at Grumman, and they all had these stickers on their cars showing F-14s (with some funky camo scheme) with the text "Royal Iranian Air Force." In fact, our Boy Scout leader had one on the back of his truck, so we kids always thought of them as our allies, back before the Iranian Revolution. After the revo the RIAF stickers disappeared, and we kids waited every day for the release of the Tehran embassy hostages, because we were so full of patriotism. Like dogs waiting for the next meal from our masters, even if the master had gone away, even if there had never really been a master. Long live the Cold War! LOL! It's funny, by the time I was old enough for service, everyone here was scrambling to learn Farsi. Life is/has been funny
During the reign of the Shah its was the Imperial Iranian Air Force IIAF After the revolution it was the Islamic Republic Iranian Air Force IRIAF I hope that one day we will really have the RIAF the republican iranian air force.
The old desert camo looked good, but they changed it last year to this one in grey/darkgrey: And this patch was planned during Shah-time from the USA for the iranian F-14 pilots but it was never accepted. But looks funny
Assuming that nothing changed since I checked my iranian passport last time, I think you can call me that. You can also call me a german citizen, because I habe also a german passport. And no - I am not collecting passports
Man, are these modern constructions similar to each other. Take a look at Iskra II - propotype of new Polish trainer/attacker: http://www.marganski.com.pl/image/ISKRA/ISKRAMAJ/imajthumb/pages/IG_2_jpg.htm
Here - taken from iranian TV - the plane is shown http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nlisMTMsgM I have no loudspeaker here - so I cant hear what the woman who is interviewed tells the reporter, but if I am correct then a woman is leading the iranian science group which is developing the plane. May its her and she tells something about the plane.
Strange. That high vertical stab angles... What for? To increase airflow slip and reduce v. stab effectiveness? Take nearly any supersonic aircraft and it will have less v. stab sweep. Looks somehow disproportional to me.
Vibora it's a design of Edward Marganski - Polish Burt Ruten who's also known of creating two world's best acro gliders - fox and swift. Check out his studio's site: http://www.marganski.com.pl/
