    Ju/Li
    Not white
    Flying level
    engines running
    no smoke or leaks
    no planes at close 6
headed to 1 of my countrys fields

    It is dead!
At least I get whines that I shot white plane even when not shooting it after another guy shot him to pieces... I got assist and lots of whines...

    Not white
    no leaks
Dive bomber climbing over my countrys field after killing hmack
none in tail (no other planes of my country near)
hmacks may have shot him, but no clear scars seen from angle of my attack

    It is dead!
I get whines from few guys because of killing a dead plane...

Maybe I will just fly bombers in near future... At least I can say that it was otto and not me killing that dead enemy fighter in my 6 :D

If it is still fighting or attacking my field, it doesn't look dead for me...
If I lose 1 control, I am not dead yet and don't whine to everyone...
I consider myself dead after being not able to control my plane anymore.
Loosing aelerons? not dead yet? can still make attack against someone. Rudder? even more useless... Elevator? it is possible to fly without, but fighting isn't easy...

Vert stab? Ok... sometimes possible to land without it, but... this is almost a kill :) Hstab... even better :)

engine? ok... how many glides to safety without? and even kills after losing engine... no eng plane without anyone in its close 12 is no threat.
no eng plane in ju/li close 6 shooting it to pieces? Dead or not?

I have myself always had more assists than kills... Reason? shooting too many "dead planes"...

Now... tell everyone what is dead?
Now I think that every enemy plane is dead, if it is still fighting... They are just all zombies :D

Damn... hitting reply gives me blank page :) Watching thread works... reply not, editing yes...

Why I posted no nicks is because I didn't want any flamefest... Just want to know how to recognize dead :)

EDIT (reply doesn't work for me)
    I am not -xela-
    Guys whining are countrymates :)

You could do what many people in FH do, get a new, catchy, somewhat suspicious nickname, then blame it on being a n00b.

I never complain about being shot down unless I'm hanging in my chute......

I'll pull a big banner around with me in the future so that you can easily identify me and keep shooting even though I appear 'dead'.

rigor is right about bombers and taxis
those should be attacked as long they have alt and dont spin (over enemy field even if theyr spinning)

but fighters? even with black smoke?
cmon, that is pathetic, if you arent the on who damaged him

but there is no set of rules that would clearly say when shootin enemy 'damaged' plane is ok and when isnt
it all depends of the situation and the threat the damaged planes can (still) be
its all about you being fair or not
some ppl just are dweebs and others are not

    Hmmm... so quick reply works...
New case... fighter bomber over my field destroying hmacks...
Guy lost his engine and turned to my field. I had a bad feeling about that move, but didn't kill him because he had no engine.

What happened? 1 more hmack dead and that guy killed by ack weenies...

Should I have killed no-engine fighter bomber instead of just watching hmack to die???

i guess you are enough clever to see the diference between a bomber low and slow kamikaze in your base and an enemy plane in middle of nowhere

    Yes...
I have my own opinions about dead and alive planes...
How they act is first in list :) Still attacking one is alive one for me...
Black smoke or spinning one middle of nowhere looks like dead.
Kamikazes... Would be good for everyone (but not for kamikaze), if they just were stopped and no steal whines afterwards... They just won't stop after 1 normally deadly hit.

Plane without 1 or 2 control surfaces flying level can be problem... You can't always see clearly what damages it has and someone of your country may have counted it as sure kill going to spin before being able to ditch.

OK... I have made mistakes. And I think some others have too...
Just counting how many times 1 enemy has damaged almost every control of myplane and another has finished... Too many times to count :)
