imo it would be a mess to have on the same TS channel 20 or more people who are flying different missions. but mb it can be used by people who are organising raids the AH voice com is cool, u can talk only to those who are near u
IMO needless idea: very few players know right Radio Operates and good RO checklist. Without knowledge and keeping of it - all voice comm will be only a huge mess increase spying possibilities many squads already use their own TS for communication FH foundation as it is now is about unorganized individual flying and furballs. This type of gameplay doesnt need extra TS. Would be needed when more "mission and coop oriented". But it isnt now and probably never will be.
instant player need fun only, and quick switch to TS if want, other squad who have allready ts are not concerned imo it s no irl here redbull
TS suxx hippobutt when there are too many people in. If 20 people was in the same channel, it would be very hard to know who the heck talks , and about what. This is from experience with RW and TS in this game. We have been maybe 5 or at max, and if you dont recognize the voices dead-on... you will rather be confised than helped. So, for an 'open for all red/gold' TS CHANNEL, I do not think it's good. sorry ...
The guys I play with I feel I know. We don't just talk tactical talk. When things aren't ahppenning in game, we talk about wives, kids, our dogs. I don't know if I would welcome having twenty more voices talking on that. It wouldn't feel like 'family.' Yes, TS is good. TS is good for gaming C3. It is good for talking to friends. It COUOLD be good for larger environments where people do not know each other, I am not sure. I fear a babble. Can't have a babble. It would do more harm than good unless we all agreed to learn radio protocol 1)Say first, who talking to. 2)Say then who you are. 3) Say what you have to say. 4) Say something like, "Over" to indicate you have finished saying it. This works fine in a disciplined frame of mind. But here, many people are not serious. Many people play for fun and are totally unbridled, carefree. Talking about the weather and our dogs, our wives, our kids is cool when there are four people on the channel. But when there are twenty, maybe it would degrade to a cackle?
Maybe I can set up a server. I have a system running 24/7. But I don't want to spend time for admin. I would like to something like this. A multiple server using one port / server. 50 ports in the range 40000-40050 for red players. 51 channels. 50 ports in the range 50000-50050 for gold players. 51 channels. Anonymous log in, i.e. no registration necessary. ( How do I fix that btw? ?) That will enable spying but that is something we have to live with. Why so may channels: Channel 0 for general talk. The other channels might be used freely, my intention is that they should be connected to fields. So all players at, lets say, field f17 are using channel 40017(red) 50017(gold) etc. Any comments??
well, ts for wbfh is cool idea but cant be 2 channels, 1 each side.. better allow creating channels with passwords and let ppl organize themselves if there will be raid, one would create channel on password and invite trusted ppl same goes for squads who would use it mb for their own purposes it could help teamplay and coop on arena but only in this form, in any other it would be a mess, even with real radio formula
Firstly if the admins that run the servers should run the radio I believe there will be large gaps in service and even more terrible ping rates causing more confusion and frustration. Perhaps private radios can be assigned to all the squads just like the text messaging only that squad chnls have passwords or are allowed only to members so that there is no radio spying. A system that prevents the two computer user from logging onto red and gold nicks at the same time to further spy on radios would be a good idea. Just one radio for each color would be a disaster IMHO.
it is the minimum and everybody is free to enter or not channel. i'm in, cause need a fixed ts server to use when some friends try wbfh for ex.
We'd just have to introduce proper radio discipline. Something like: "Red Crown (red air control), this is rubbee (red cannon fodder ) .... my posit is 7 5 1, request vector to nearest con." to which Red Crown would reply: "rubbee, this is Red Crown, nearest con is bearing 180, 5 miles" j/k ohh, but it would be fun to talk like the big boys
