And some Russian babies too. You sure know the Tu-22 and Tu-160, the third one is the Myassischev Mya-4 (also called M-4 or 3M) Bison, a jet heavy bomber from the early '50s. I'm not sure but i guess this pretty baby flew earlier than the Tu-95 or the B-52, but the Bear took its place soon and they were modified to tankers. One more thing - I've heard that the Tu-160s are in production again ;)

Gotta love the B-36, it looks so utopistic! Looks like a Howard Hughes design. :)

Seems fast planes all have a tendency toward certain shapes. And as time goes on, they settle into those shapes almost as if independant of a designer's wishes.
Like, kinda, like, uh, Porpoises and Sharks are both different, way different, but they both evolved to be similar body shape. I forget what that is called, but it is called somethin.

I'm surprised so many people said MiG-21. I personally have always found that plane to be THE most revolting monstrosity to ever grace the sky. The MiG-29 on the other hand is just plain cream-in-yer-pants gorgeous, but all MiGs before that I absolutely despise. In my opinion they looked too thick, brutish, with boring geometry and with ugly cockpit canopies. Su-27 (and varients) are also very nice. For American planes I like the F-22, but I'm surprised that a lot of people do not like its appearance. Favourite of all time remains the p-51 though. I guess my taste in planes reflect my taste in women... sleek and refined.

as the least expensive & longest legged USAAF combat plane of the mid 1940s, maybe your tastes are more like... old, cheap & full of gas

With a little bit of too much fat at the wrong spots (sorry to break the party, but the cooler on the P51 always reminds me of a beer belly)

Hmm, I happen to like that distinct feature of the P-51. I don't know, call me weird, but I think that looks way cool.

For me to say my favorite will always be: The P-38 Lightning.
    In particular, the XP-38
