...which I want to share with you asshats. ;)

    Awesome.

I really *dig* that first low pass of what I think are RAF Sepecat Jaguars (or are they French?).
Most people who posted there on youtube itself thought that the later part with that French Rafale almost hitting the sea with its ass and the (probably) French Mirage F1 were the shizznits, but in fact the Rafale looks like semi-suicide to me, an uncontrolled shit where the pilot today is probably still thanking God that he just made it back up a few feet off the sea, and the Mirage F1 one is really not all that spectacular since he's going pretty slow and was basicly just doing a landing approach with the gear up. But the low pass of the British/ore more probably French Jaguars in the beginning of the vid is just FUCKING AWESOME imho. It is the best low speed pass, and in formation, which I've ever seen. It is the epidome of low alt, high speed passes in jets. Beats any of the scenes in Star Wars, too. ;)

I remember how someone on another forum saw similar vids of low, EXTREMELY low flying French people, and asked "Terrific. How are they allowed to do that?" And the answer from another guy was "They aren't." LOL. Awesome. I guess the French *do* have some balls after all. ;) And they film that shit and put it up on the net. They at least know what fun is all about, don't they?

Correction: I think the last plane in that vid is also a Sepecat Jaguar, not a Mirage F1. You can tell from its horizontal stabilizers, with the wings forming a negative V.

Yep. Probably the best office you can find yourself in. :super: God bless those who made it there. In my view, those people are semi-Gods.

BTW, you remember the callsign "rapier"? He was a ret. F-104 driver with the Federal Republic of Germany Luftwaffe, and when he took up flying there, he actually did so in the squadron which was then under the command of all-time Ace, WWII veteran Erich Hartmann. Rapier flew here for a while, with Legion Condor 69, and they made some RL meetings and took a few pics, so I know he was genuine. But then at some point he switched over to iEN Warbirds 3. But all this was quite some time back. Don't know if he's still flying online now. But it was awesome, since I've already seen a few RL pilots, and even RL / ex-RL *fighter* pilots doing this thing here, and I think it's an honor to any flightsim community to have those chaps around.

Yeah, as I said, it looks almost like a suicide attempt to me. I don't really think you could judge the sink rate as accurate at that point and with that high alpha as you should be able to when you do crap like that. That's why I think the guy didn't really know either whether he's gonna live or not when he did that stunt lol. It just looks totally sick. %)

In light of this, are you all aware of the "Dogfight" series on History Channel? It's the most accurate and best visualized documentary on air combat that I'm aware of. In fact, it's the only documentary on air combat I'm aware of, aside from "The Art of the Kill". Unfortunately, we don't have HC in Germany, but thank God for youtube.

A few examples below - go on and search for more from there, there are plenty of episodes to be found.

    Intro:

Comprehensive 9 part á 9 minutes upload, from WWI to modern times (if you don't have the time to watch it all, check out the Korea episode below, it is short but you get a good idea of the show):

    Misc stuff:

    AVG:

    PTO:

    Korea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBBz4Eo4Gak

    Vietnam:

Modern stuff (F-15, IAF), from 2:20 minutes:

P.S. I know it's US-centered. If you don't like that, make your own. It's still accurate in terms of ACM, and since it's an American made series, the most readily sources available are - you guessed it. ;)

I didn't watch the whole 9 parts myself yet either. But under Misc stuff, you have to check out the Vietnam episode (F-8 Crusader vs. MiG-17), it has a great vertical rolling scissors demonstration towards the end - something we rarely get to do in Warbirds though - props are not quite up to that. ;)

Hmm, yeah, I looked, but couldn't find episode 4 either. This is unfortunate indeed. Usually you'll end up finding whatever you look for by simply trying all kinds of different paths which might lead to it - but up til now, I didn't have any luck either with episode 4. Maybe it's just missing. Who knows.

The whole series one for you all to download with ur fav downloader (e.g i use shareaza). All are good quality, with a good number of sources, enjoy gents :D

Btw, i love the opening sentence to the clip "Buddy of mine once said he'd rather fly a jet than kiss hs girl"... hectik bloke :D

Btw, the episode with the corsair vs mig is called "the last gunfighter", probly one of the best episodes of the lot, but on equal par, is "Long odds".
