I know, that's what I said. :) But I still feel that overall the P-38 in WBIII is like 2 steps ahead, then 2 to the left and finally 3 steps back. The general feel of virtually all flight models in WBIII is certainly more realistic. In WBII all planes feel like they're on rails. It is the flight parameters of the P-38 that I have a gripe with. Have you ever gotten into close dogfight in the WBIII P-38? Gosh, what a hog! Even a P-51 can out turn it effortlessly.
I was told by regular WBIII players that a few years ago the Lightning was so hugely overmodeled that the developers had to react to the outraged cries of the community, and react they did ... by moving the Lightning to the other end of the spectrum ... sound familiar?

hehe why can't they just go step by step I will never figure out ;)

the best way, as one wise man once posted on another forum, is to make a hog of it, and then gradually improve it, but then again, you have to know what "gradually" means ;)

eh I wish I had my joystick here so I could actually get a feel of this new TH server...

Yep, people don't want to admit what a great fighter it really was and is!

    Here! Here!

I did find it rather "amusing" when taking-off, that at full throttle the P-38 has a tremendous torque steer and required full opposite rudder.

I guess the software guys didn't know about contra-rotating props.

Some of the P-38 big secrets are still big secrets , I guess.

    Speaking of P-38:

"...I wanted to go back for another 50 missions, but they ruled it out because I had a case of malaria that kept recurring. So I had to stay in the States and teach combat flying. I was shot down by a mosquito! ..."

While he laid sleeping quietly, soundly, a whole Geschwader of bot flies laid eggs on his back.

Hmm, OK, antred, I think I kinda missed the point here. Thanks. Damn the Brits for coming up with stupid names for their planes, like insect names. I guess that means that I'll keep what I've written here for another day, or whatever - it's even harder to make any sense of it when even the introduction doesn't have any of it either. ;)
I should comment less. No gain anyway, for nobody.

Ummm, no! He said that he got stung by a Mosquito! Yanno, the insect! :p Hence the malaria he suffered from. So he effectively got taken out by a bug. ;)

long time ago looking for flight test data i accually found a sight by a ine flight tester. he did a lot of the intial data the flight models were set on. by testing the planes he could and ussing published flight data for those he couldnt. but he also admitted that for game play resons a planes flight model in ine was ussualy as true to life as possible but some tweeks were made to for game play balence issues. some planes might perfrom slightly better or worse then they should under certian condtions
