To look after Higgs Boson particle is:
To dangerous to play with it, or not.... ?
    What do you think?

Playing with your particles is dangerous, Ronin.

    Probablities are durn annoying.

I guesstimate that they will not find anything new.
BUT hey, nice new shiny toy, and it seems they beat the yanks to get it running?

I forgot which US institution also building one of these.

C'mon, it would be enough with ONE doomsday device, or?

But, I again say, my guesstimate is they won't find that annoying little thing anyway.
    OR AT LEAST, not yet.

Since they don't know how it looks, maybe I already have one right here.

    I wouldn't know.

<edit. I spelled as if I was bothered by a higgin in my eyes.>

Ha, maybe they won't find the Higgs boson, but instead, who knows, they could find proof the E8 Lie group is much more important than originally expected.

I think it's not. I may be wrong though, I have medical education. Do you have a degree at quantum physics? Don't think so, then your opinion, or anyone's at this forum, is worth as much as all other recent topics (that is flame fests) in here.

BTW, you improved at controlling yourself, wtg! :)

BUT the Yanks will build a bigger and better one. Then they will test it, then it'll have some kind of malfunction, then out of nowhere some crappy Hulk, Magneto or Ronin will appear

Meh, who knows, it's a statistical given there's bound to be someone in here with a physics degree.

AFAIR Maty was in Marseille to oversee the LHC construction or something. I'm guessing he'll have some inside scoop... though he'll probably be busy atm :p

I am sorry but your opinion here is irelevant not important and ignored since "provided" you proved you can't controle your self NOT EVEN NOW. Please if you don't have something smart or at least attempt to be smart to say just avoid this or any other post.

Well my guestimate is also they will not find god's particle.
But they will definitely find something ( it might be dark mater place where vojtas came from... :D ) with that miniature big bang.... who knows it might hapen this planet will also find/lose something... we will see.

British astrophysicist Stephen Hawking has bet 100 dollars (70 euros) that a mega-experiment this week will not find an elusive particle seen as a holy grail of cosmic science.
But he is exited since he is 99% sure that minibadabingbadabung will produce handufll of small black holes what will bring him Nobel Prize since he predicted it.

The simple answer at least IMHO:

No, not dangerous at all, unless you consider knowledge dangerous.

This whole thing reminds me of the great neutrino hunt of many years ago.

"The more we know, the more we know we know so little..or the more we know there's so much more to know."

The only "danger" I can think is that they discover contrary to all "modern" physics, a new dimension and the Higgs boson rips the divide between our dimension and that one and we all get sucked-in or sucked-out into another reality.

Well they say it is essential for egzistence of minkind.
And yes knowledge can be dangerous what is many times prooved through history... Hiroshima Nagasaki...
Also I remember Maria and Piear Kiri who found radioactive material 'Radium' and they didn't know what they found so got high dose of radiation and if I can recall corectly bot of em died of radiation....
Lets hope we will live long enoug to see how will this mini bigbang affect our lives. One jap loking scientist from states mentioned that this experiment also can provide time travel posibility.... who knows...
Yeah they were talking about finding new dimension... paralel universe....etc...

    Al, would you please........?

    btw, isn't a "minibigbang" a paradox? :fly2:
