24 x 3 = 60? I once was 64h awake stone sober.Felt weird.One guy I know (45 years old then)was awake for 4 months, thought under the *SWINE*influenca of amphetamine speed sht stuf.
guinness the world-record for sleeplessness is 266 hours by 2007 then again, in ancient china criminals were sentenced to 'death by sleeplessness'. being beaten or tickled every time they fell asleep, they went mental after some days and then died. the us army has conducted experiments on the subject in the fifties and had casualties as well.
It's not healthy to play with sleep deprivation. You easily catch psychosis even after 5 days not sleeping in row. Tho unless you take some drugs (caffeine, amphetamine, etc.) I doubt that you can be awake too long to really fuck yourself up. At some point you just fall asleep no matter what. My friend who took some amphetamine at time was seeing dancing khirsnas in his room and hallucinating. He went into psychosis and has been on medication for some years now due to bipolar disorder. I think he went about a week without sleeping. He's feats - undoubtly much because of this - include turning to religion (muslim) and trying to go and take part in fight in chechenya. (gladly georgian border guards caught him and the security police sent him back to finland after some weeks of interrogation) You can see him (the guy with kids) in this video at 0:48 http://www.nelonen.fi/UUTISVIDEOT/default.asp?c=1&newpage=153&video=1655 I start to hear things after just few days of not sleeping. And start begin to see dreams just after 3 days or so. I never been so long awake that I couldn't differentiate the 'reality' from my auditory or visual dreams, but longer I stay awake the more blurred the line between dream and 'reality' gets. ('' because dreams are real too. they just show things happening within us. subconcious and concious.) Anyways, be careful.
It's not a game in my case, I want to sleep...but i can't I am not drinking coffee, black tea, no drugs... mb there is the time for alcohol now
+1 Another thing you might try: when I can't seem to sleep, which does happen occasionally (I think everyone gets that now and then) I sometimes just say to myself "well, fuck that", get up and just skip an entire night's sleep. The next day I'll be so pooped out that when it's time to go to bed, I'll be gone in seconds.
First find-out WHY you can't sleep! Has this ever happened to you before? Not eating right lately? More stress lately? Any recent changes in your life/lifestyle? When was the last time you got a check-up/physical? Try a nice bottle of cognac before bed. Or a nice bottle of champagne.
As long as you find a bent nail on the stage before curtain-up. http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=11615245
