Taking the number of ppl on the arenas into account, the above screenshot clearly represents the current condition of FH. BTW- anyone knows that game?
YES! Wing Commander A great game in its time. I think a WC online game would be very cool! Even a nuke for the end game- keep a sharp eye Kilrath or lose your home planet!!!!
I said that because I used to play it on a 19" Hitachi fixed frequency monitor. It was 42 kilograms and for every game or software application I had to adjust the vertical hold. Well that was in the days of VGA and a hot rod computer was the AMD 150mghtz. 586. Later came the spider graphics VLB with 32 megs video ram and 1280X1024 displays. When I returned to the WC games the video just wasn't the same. I didn't know how to set the resolutions down and the good old games i used to play looked horrible. BOB/SWOTL and Wing Commander, my two most favorite games just didn't work on my new displays. Any event I did keep the software and the original hard drives. One of these days they will come out of the storage and with an older computer running DOS 5.5 with the CD rom extentions or maybe just DOS 6.... I will play again. Maybe an older laptop...?\
do you remember that ien stared with 3 games: ww1 - dawn of aces ww2 - warbirds ww999 - raider wars actually Myg started from converting itmo's freehost for raider wars lemme find his url for that project...
My first ever flightsim: (came on a cartridge for my powerful Atari 800XL machine-> bought it second hand around 1986): And yes, it was Microprose's "Dogfight". One of the nicests combat flightsims in the early 1990s (had a Commodore Amiga by that time).
http://hol.abime.net/478 F-19 stealth fighter. From cassette with C64. One mission was about an hour or so, mainly because of the loading times. Played it once 16 hours straight.
Good old games: Mattel Intellivision with voice module I played B-17 bomber. Commodore C64 also has some Korean Mig Alley game for two players and also Pacific WW2 air war game. Anyone remember"Strike Eagle" and Black Knight games? There was another flight sim game about Navy jets that after several misions you were sent to Top Gun school. Can't remember the name. It came with a Chinese sound card on two 3.5" floppies. Very simple graphics but a neat game. Yes, the good old days.....
Yeap... split screen mode... it was more of an arcade... but still great F-15E Strike Eagle? One of my last flight sims for Atari... I still remember the thrills of getting my sights locked on a Mig21 (represented by a vector-graphics triangle with a line inside). There was also a flight sim for Amiga, which involved both the strategy and tactics of first Gulf War. You were planning air support/ air superiority missions on a large map, than moving your land forces... and flying the missions after that. Great game, but I can't remember the title.
Shuddup, I played that game when I got my Amiga 500, which was in 1990. (P.S. Well f***! Twenty years ... where'd they go!? )
We could always ask Cabron to soup up the engine we already have. I hear he can tune WBFH to 1400 bhp!
