Sadly, any hmack spawned is quickly killed by otto before he can bring guns to bear when he encounters 4 li2 circling field at d3 and low altitude. Try it sometime and you will see.
Need to take a different approach. You're trying to turn fight an aircraft that has a rear gunner and forward gun?? I think you need to find a plane with better guns!
Find a plane with better guns in Aug. '40. I think ziomek just needs to adapt his tactics to the situation and evolve into a better pilot. Yes, Li-2 otto might be a little harsh, but you can still adapt to it and minimize the defenses with proper tactics.
I think that there is disturbance caused by the Li-2 being capable of vulching a field. I think this is a great idea, because bombers that fly low altitude should be able to use their otto to vulch and take out jeeps and such. Why should the defender be afforded a 99.9999999% chance of success?
Well then, would you think a rolling buf or plane with gunner positions should be able to shoot back from the field? I say if engines running and plane is rolling on runway the ottos should be allowed to return fire.
But that would open the door for so much abuse. I bet it wouldn't be long before people started rolling bombers en masse to use their otto to ward off raids.
I think so too. Should be a realistic game/sim, right?? Who in their right mind would get within range of an open field knowing keep acks or gunned aircraft will be nearby to shoot?
Simple, close the field first. I don't know how many times I've told people in the arena that. Wasting bombs/ammo on jeep acks or gunships when the field is open is just stupid, knowing the immediate ease of re-upping with another jeepack or gunship.
Abuse? If the planes with gunners are manned and rolling, that's not abuse. Abuse is vulching knowing full well that any plane trying to roll cannot shoot back. Besides bombers have finite amounts of ammo, acks do not.
Sorry again: "manned" as in having a crew. I suppose if in real life, you're taking-off and getting jumped by bandits your crew would return fire. I don't know if you could go to auto pilot and jump to gunner position. Or if you could it would be for a short time before you crash into something, I imagine....
Abuse would be landing at a field and using the manned guns to take out fuel tanks, ammo, radio, or hanger. By all means, please land at a field with live acks if you want.
I confirm that li2 is able to outturn p39 second ver with flaps on. Kemala did that last night, he kept his nose above horizont and turned like crazy. In the end i had to run from Li. Dunno if Li2 should be like that , just writing to confirm li2's outstanding abilty.
ROFL few day ago we (2x109f2 and 1x109e4) fought with one Li2 (letez in), we had a big problem to kill him, it was maybe 2-3 mins fight...
