    Got it working using Vista.
    Upgraded to Win7
    Did the 1.70 install
    Then it shuts-down

If it rhymed it would be funny.
    :dura:

Sorry I can't help ya, LL - I sure do though, hope someone can.
Soon, WIn8 will make it all so much easier...
Why don't you just wait and then get the New Windows? It will all be better then, eh?
    All better.

    Thanks for the rapid responses.

I got it to work and thanks again to Red for those detailed directions!!!

    :@prayer: :super:

What happened when upgrading from Vista to Win7 is that the Win7
    resets the System setting.

So I went back to instruction #5 :

    5.
The following step is necessary to avoid a CTD (crash to desktop) when switching planes.
Go to Control panel--->System--->Advanced System Settings and, under Performance, click Settings. Scroll all the way down and make sure the Slide open combo boxes checkbox is unticked. Don't forget to save your changes by clicking "Apply".

    Worked like a charm !!!

Now if only we had more players....... :D

YES !!! DOA is a great game ! Can you still get a copy without having to

subscribe? I couldn't get it to run on Vista. It won't work on Win7 ????

Have you tried "compatibility mode" change and that slide frame thing as Red Ant wrote/translated in the Win7/Vista directions?

I'm going to try it if I still have doa on the hard drive.

I'm talking about 2.75 version, looks same as warbirds 2...
    here it is http://www.dawnofaces.com/doa_downloads.html

My problem with it is same one as we had with fh, game works, but
keyboard doesn't . So, I guess it needs new .exe to replace old one:(

Hiya haupt! I do miss those days. You'll have to jump back in the game when you get bored enough. :dark:

Yes, I don't get it... there seem to be more people here on the Forum than online playing....

maybe we need to get the word out to more people?

did all those players just grow old or tired of the game?

Yeah... those were the days... 30, 40, 50 people online, join a squad, make a plan, attack, defend, furball !!!!!

    Something for everyone.

    People are playing.

A coupla more buff drivers, a few of the P-38 dudes, and we'd be sweeping the map :D

I believe loose meant any decent fighters? I may give it a go again soon, I havn't flown since the year started. I see another launcher has yet been added any improvements over the previous debacle? Anyhow hope any and all are doing fine. <S> bullet
