after installing win2k on a new computer with directx81, ie6 and many micro$oft-patches, i installed these three files: wb277r3min.exe 21.931.111 Bytes wb27art3.exe 34.392.354 Bytes FHLInstall_142.exe 2.533.101 Bytes After installation fhl want´s to run the program and it says: Invalid wsock32.dll. Please reinstall FreeHost Launcher Can´t find a solution.
Interesting. I'm still trying to get a solution for the 'play track mess up my windows98' problem and the first thing I found somehow suspicious was the FHL's own wsock32.dll. So I fiddled around with exchanging the original file (in windows\system) with the FHL's file and vice versa. Both measures didn't work. It seems that the 312kb winsock.dll in the FHL folder works as an addition to the original one (which is only 40kb on my windows 98se). A solution to your problem could probably help me with my problem. Did you check wether your original wsock32.dll was overwritten by the FHL's version? edit: Ah, zu spät gesehen!
Seems like FHLauncher is not "seeing" is own wsock32.dll I remember someone saying that the wsock32.dll of FHLauncher has it owns functions used by the FH, so you can't exchange it with the wsock32.dll that ships with Windows (or vice-versa)
@thrapt: Maybe. FHL also don't start (with error message) if the original wsock32.dll is not present.
Really? Definitely not here, on my W$98se. I tried this: First simply rename the file. Second I put an empty text file called wsock32.dll into c:\windows\system. Same result: Error message after starting FHL (or play track). So FHL not only looks for the presence of original wsock32.dll: It seems even checks for it's contants.
I misunderstood you. I thought you said that FH started even with a blank wsock32 in his folder. So, it's right. It doesn't start and (off course) doesn't work
Invalid wsock32.dll. Please reinstall Freehost Launcher I have a new Pentium4 with win2k SP3. I can play WB without problems on- and offline. I installed wb277r3min.exe wbart3support.exe FHLInstall_150.exe Than I get this Error: Invalid wsock32.dll. Please reinstall Freehost Launcher I have to use McAfee VirusScan (version 4.5.1).
pgp? after i installed pgp8.0 and ad-aware6 on my win2k computer, i got the "wrong wsock32.dll" on my last computer. from now on, i have four computers, and no way to play wb.fh anymore.
I have found the error. I had to deinstall www.pgp.com. Nobody else is using pgp? Maybe with other plugins?
FHL uses 2 winsocks.dll first - default windows one. second - FH one (in FHL directory) As one of the possible solutions try to place FH winsock.dll to warbirds directory. And yes, if 'pgp' replace default windows winsock.dll that can cause a problem.
Хм. ОК. Стоит PGP. Но оно НЕ меняет wsocks32.dll.
may i get a translation to english or german? i don't use pgp.com anymore. i prefer thunderbird enigmail with gnupg.
