Nicaee, check if you can download WW2 Fighters from here... this is a P2P program.
This is the best P2P program... over 1 Petabyte of shared files:
    1,451,002 DivXs
    1,651,910 CDs
    325,376,310 MP3s

Tripple the amount of data available on kaaza, morpheus and grokster.

When i had Cable Modem 512k I was able to download plenty of games and movies, for instance: Colin Mc Rae 2.0, Black & White, Combat Flight Simulator, Gran Theft Auto, NHL 2002, NHL 2001, Superbike 2001, and Zoo Tycoon :D

I'm sure IL2 Sturmovik is avail for download, unfortunately I dont know about WW2 Fighters, but search for it... maybe you have luck :D

    The home page is: http://www.neo-modus.com/

    download link:

    http://64.246.30.9:81/networkingfiles87/fileshar/DCSetup.exe

    3MB.

WW2 Fighters is the worst 'sim' I've played in the last five years. Don't waste your time.

i tried EAW some time ago

at ~d10 planes would become sticks, and unspottable against the ground.

would there be a patch to make that better, maybe?

    Don't read this

(Planes looking like sticks at distance)

Yep. There is a patch that (I think) triples the distance at which planes are rendered in 3d. The reason why they turn to sticks is because EAW is a MASSIVE AIR BATTLE GAME with a SHITLOAD of 3d planes to manage - up to 256 of them. SO the engine, being coded a few years back, made allowances for the massive processing needed just to render nice looking little planes.
The patch will bring that up to date AND allow any resolution you monitor/video card can handle (which makes for a pretty whicked looking wide angle view at the higher resolutions.

Another patch allows the use of over 350 different aircraft.

Another patch allows neater looking special affects.

    etc.
    etc.

I think it is the best ww2 air battle (yes, battle, not combat, BATTLE) sim made. If you ever feel like trying it online, give me a holler. No, I won't shoot you down five times in a row. Unlike some "sims" I could name, you ain't going to be pulling crap like that off in EAW. The sky is pretty big and you are pretty tiny. Escort those bombers and don't be a hero!

    I love EAW.

There are NO empty flight controls keys on my keyboard. You name it, it is there. It is the Falcon4 of ww2 sims.

And your airplane will sentence you to death if you pull much of the shit off people get away with in Warbirds. Warbirds, crank that stick and you snap roll. EAW, crank on that stick and hear the sound of you main spar snapping and shit filling your (virtual)pants.

Is there some way to get EAW working with Win2000?

    Talk about coincidents

I was in a local software shop today, and they had 2 copies of WW2 Fighters sitting on a markdown table....$15 each....nearly bought one, but thought it would be not as much fun as WBFH.

    Was I wrong?

May have been a different game....was made by Microprose.

    Regards, Oz

I love EAW but I also use WWII Fighters wich is, in my opinion, better than EAW.
Don't you think so ? Try to install the latest flight model addon (ver. 5) and give it a try ...

BTW, I don't know if it works in Win2000 but I have WinXP and I must launch it using Win98 or WinME emulation.

How dare you say that there is something worse than Jane's Attack Squadron? :)

Hmmm, yes I've played that one... well as a matter of fact I got it through a friend of mine... and I found it rather disapointing... I played WWII fighters some time and it's an ok game... but Jane's Attack Sq... it's not worth the name Jane's IMO (such as in Jane's F-15 and Jane's F/A-18 'n Longbow etc, not in IAF or USAF ;))
