My mom, my family & my country, and which fighter I like. nice selection of hate thus far.

Yes, Looseleaf, ignore technical data you can't refute, & ignore the request for legit source material, or just ignore myself so you can dodge it all & take the easy way out. Typical.

Your country happens to be his country, so he can say whatever he wants...

Why would he dodge anything ? You are not his gf, bf , so , why would he
    talk to you at all?

Wasn't he who took aim at my country.

Ask him why he has consistently dodged requests for Engineers statements & legit sources to back his claims, not me.

    yawnnnnn......

So everything you know is found only on the the internet?

As I said, NO. Go find it yourself. I am not going to go back and look

for things I researched 20+ years ago just for YOU.

Who the **** do you believe you are that you demand "proof"?

Do the work yourself. Go back over the NACA studies and biographies of 1940s and read about it.

How all those famous "engineers" in England that you quote and suck-up to were shown not to have completely understood what they were testing and the results they had.

Many times over the course of my studies I have discovered that those very same engineers and many "PhDs" have gotten the right answers but came to the wrong conclusions.

Same thing with your parroting of the "thrust" increase of the exhaust tips.

NACA proved the Brits wrong, their conclusion incorrect. and the actual testing showed an increase of 7 mph at 25,000 feet, or around there, can't remember.

However the most important part was it was called "THRUST INCREASE EFFECT" because REAL scientists could not prove what was really going on.

Now go back to that photo of the green P-51 and try to understand what I was trying to say.

Those exhaust streaks. Nice curvaceous lines. Ever see curved jet/rocket thrust?

Well you won't. Not on this planet. Unless you can make a P-51 out of neutron star alloy or something like that... (and yes I can- you cannot)

Sooo.. that is an example of the exhaust energizing the boundary layer,

those gases are going there because it is the most natural place to go..... the path of least resistance !!!

Yes it is lowering the DRAG !!!!

YES, even maybe Low pressure, or lower relative pressure and remember the second law of thermodynamics, of course you do, you know everything !

Why yes! It's... it's also a "Bernoulli effect" .. why the shape of those exhaust tips and the direction actually help draw out the exhaust and increase the volumetric efficiency of the power plant!

So ... a well designed exhaust made the planes fly faster, yes.

As to the how and why, well many people came to many conclusions.

The people who came to the correct conclusions are building mach 20 scram jet propulsion systems.

and you and the people who you admire did not.

the people that I know and had the honor of meeting and discussing certain aspects of those designs did.

Now the last time i was asked to talk about this I was being paid

$250.00 per hour and 4 hour minimum whether I talked for 4 hours or not and that was around 1979 or so.

I cannot remember, and if I did, I wouldn't tell you anyway.

Yes, I was cheap and easy back then.

    Now I'm just old.

Everyone knows more now and like Hez said. there are no real secrets anymore.

But I do not want to get into trouble talking about them anymore.

if you talk too much, even here in the USA, some people in cheap suits come to your door and let you read a piece of paper and tell you that you should talk to them before you plan any trips overseas.

it happened to a friend of mine. so it was better to just read about it in the papers years later and laugh...

Go ahead and say it :)

Now I want to know what kind of suits Looseleaf thinks are not "cheap" :) In reality, a lot of fed folks make much more than the average working man, so they can afford decent suits.

Mr. Derbyshire tells it like it is.

Now you may feel free to throw tomatoes at me :)

No Looseleaf, As I explained previously I have spoken with Japanese Ace Mike Kawato, Tuskeegee airmen & have read loads of books to boot over last 20 yrs. Not all on internet. Your excuse of not supplying legit source material or engineers statements is gotten extremely Yawnful & lame.

at least you know admit this much. Changed your tune.

    Ha ha ha..... ALW !!!!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uS870zCCAwM

You can sing along if you want:

Mississippi in the middle of a dry spell
Jimmy Rogers on the Victrola up high
Mama's dancin' with baby on her shoulder
The sun is settin' like molasses in the sky
The boy could sing, knew how to move, everything
Always wanting more, he'd leave you longing for

Black velvet and that little boy's smile
Black velvet with that slow southern style
A new religion that'll bring ya to your knees
    Black velvet if you please

Up in Memphis the music's like a heatwave
White lightening, bound to drive you wild
Mama's baby's in the heart of every school girl
"Love me tender" leaves 'em cryin' in the aisle
The way he moved, it was a sin, so sweet and true
Always wanting more, he'd leave you longing for

Black velvet and that little boy's smile
Black velvet with that slow southern style
A new religion that'll bring ya to your knees
    Black velvet if you please

Every word of every song that he sang was for you
In a flash he was gone, it happened so soon, what could you do?

MCloud & AL, for gawd's sake's keep yer day jobs. Sandi Fa could blow you both offstage.

Since you guys are so fond German aviation technology & also how it has influenced Allied planes & technology. I'll give this...

Max Munk, a German NACA technical assistant who was familiar with European wind tunnel design, designed the Variable Density Tunnel--the first pressurized wind tunnel in the world.

The Variable Density Tunnel was a technological jump that rejuvenated American aerodynamic research which had fallen behind European countries prior to World War I and eventually led to the development of the best aircraft in the world.
    http://www.nps.gov/nr/travel/aviation/var.htm

It was culture shock within the US aero-engineering community. He brought modern aerodynamics to the US. See pg. 292 in "A History of Aerodynamics."1
    http://www.scientistsandfriends.com/aerodynamics.html

The NACA tested the P-51 in its full-scale wind tunnel

    Goddam, you are BORING !!!!!

Ah, yes, 'wind tunnel'.... invented by the Wright Brothers ....

Munk's VDT was used FOR MODELS- NOT ACTUAL SIZE PLANES.

Stop reading the comics version of history on the internet... or at least

    keep it to yourself.

Better yet, I am sure you can get a job with some missionaries at a place like Borneo and amuse the natives..... I can hear it now....

"Ah Bwuana HornyBlack, you not like other long-pigs, you talky many funny stories of Germanymensch superiority.. ha ha ha flying machines that better than Japanese devils and American liberators.. but if dey so bettah, why did they lose the war? .. please comey back in two days for chief's big Mokka! We have you fo' dinna then... "
