My experience with Logitech joysticks is very bad. 2 Joysticks in 2 months. Luckyly both of them were still at guarantee period.

After the second shity Logitech, I changed to a Microsoft, and no problems after two years.

Logitech potentiometers' lifetime just fits well into the FH philosophy: 'TWO WEEKS...'

Do not, I repeat DO NOT buy a Cyborg evo!!

All of a sudden ingame my plane started veering to the left of its own accord. Trim didnt help, it still kept drifting.

    I reinstalled the drivers and done all the usual, then out of desperation went to the Saitek site. They dont have updated drivers for the evo, so I went to their forums. Here's some of the threads;

    http://www.saitekforum.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=114

Their sticks are great, but their drivers and support are crap. Mine is going back to the shop tomorrow.

Looks like same bug like with Cyborg.

    Messed up autocalibration.

If your stick move too far from center autocalibration dies.

you can apply some ducttape on stick to prevent it from moving too far from center...

LOL. I like Saitek engeneers. I guess they think that product testing is a complete loss of the time. ;)

I actually think this is a game bug......I have had the same problem, and I know my squad mate has also had it, and he uses a M$ stick. Repeated hits on F12 usually fixes it.

    regards, Oz

@ kernel: Thanks, i'll bear that in mind :)

@ Oz: I dont think so mate, it happens in both AH and FH and the problem is widespread amongst all Saitek users, if their forum is anything to go by.

It depends on resistance of controller pots. Easiest way to make "an own one"
is to connect it to gameport.
USB-chips are awesomely expensive if ordered "the right way" with own device numbers, but if one has old usb-stick with no use, it's quite simple to dismantle it and use its usb chip with controller. Like replacing old pots with new ones. Still, flying WB with RC controller is IMO quite...kinky.

i've got a saitek cyborg 3d and fed of twist on stick.
i'd like to pull over twist electronic and put it external on trottle.
never seen inside joy, so is it possible?

thank d'steel for those infos, i go a radio transmiter 8 channels, but the game play in wb would be to hard with that  no hat view, 2 hands working on pilotage. :) a mix between joy and rc would be cool:
1 big stick for elev, ailerons, hat view, guns
    1 small for tail, trottle

Yep. It's possible to connect external rudderpedals to almost any twist-handle.

When you have opened the stick, locate potentiometer that is attached into twist-thingy. There are usually three wires connected into it. Cut the wires from half-length (In case something goes wrong and you have to enable twister again its easier to reconnect wires.) Then measure the resistance of the twist-pot (Usually 150 kohm) and buy similar one. Prices of that type rotary pots in Finland are around 1.5 ?.
Then just connect the new pot with long enough wires into cut off wires and new pot works as the twist-pot did earlier.

    (Then the "propellerhat"-section)

Then just build pedals like these
    http://koti.mbnet.fi/weenie/
(Connected into saitek x-45, thats why connectors and stuff)
and start flying happier than ever.
These "wooden wonders" have served about six months without any need of repairing or trimming.

WARNING: It is not TOO easy trick to rewire pots inside joystick.
I personally take no responsibility of any damage caused.
But i try my best to give as much information on subject as i can.

    CH CS 568 + pedals.

Should do for next 5 years. Im VERY happy of these.
Accuracy is the best, very rugged (will last many years) :)
My only grief is that id prefer a long stick (40cm or so) and more resistance to give more realistic feel.

Cougar with optical sensors and extension might be nice, but too expensive. (300? for stick is too much for me)

Simped pedals...hmm those would be neat too.

i have microsoft sidewinder percision pro2. i love this fucking stick. only problem is my hat is weareing out from execisvely rolling it in dogfights.
as for wingman extreams every one i know whos had one has had calibration problems within weeks. i had a wingman attak and that sucked ass too. since i hear microsoft stopped making sticks im thinking of bying 1 or 2 to stick in closet to replace this one should it go.
