    I have the same problem

despite trying to correct it via the advice given on the HP FreeHost:

    the problem remains.
The game freezes the PC in Twr and/or in Flight. This happens sometimes immediatly in the tower or after a while of flight.
FHL 1.42 did not change the problem a bit.
    I have changed
    - the hertz value of the monitor
    - the package size while on-line
    - V-sync on/off and many other 3D and open GL-settings

    The result is simply zero
I use Win ME on Athlon750, GeForce2MX 400 on 17" Monitor and play in hi-res mode.

    Doggun,

    Have also a Geforce 2 MX 400 here from Asus(driver V12.90).
I'm using Win2000 on 19" Monitor at high res mode by 60Hz.
Didn't have had these problems in the past but i have changed the monitor res from 75Hz to 60Hz 1024x768(because af stuttering graphics). I'll check of this could be a result of that change.
This host file didn't solve the problem here eighter.

    I have:
    Amd Athlon1,4Ghz
    Asus Geforce 2MX400 64Mb TVout
    MSI KT3

    I did it!

I have found the bug, would you believe?

Go > Start > Settings > Controll Panel > Gaming Options and remove the tick under Control IDs where it says DMA, that´s all.

I know all you fellows, who tried to help me, some info about my maschine was missing in my 1st cry for help:
    - Nvidia driver 28.32
    - DirectX 8.1
    - IRQ conflicts not likely because no changes in the meantime
    - DSL-connection with pings usually between 100-120

The main reason for my mishap was a format of my main partition and the reinstallation of WinME and all the associated software/programms, thereby simply forgetting the tickmark at the game controller DMA.

    How did I find out?

I checked all my old notes about the installation processes, which I thankfully had kept aside. I should have been that smart a lot earlier.

My WB is now running as smooth as ever before.

    Thanks to all for consideration.

i think i have to consider Windows ME :p
I use win 2000 and don't seem to have that DMA tick....i'll search onward for that tick.... if anyone have an idea where to find it..i gould try it too.

Thanks anyway Doggun for your replay ;)
