Gentlemen, Operation Vengeance will run at TH 29 april, saturday, from 18:00 GMT =================== April 18 1943: The hunt and death of Adm. Yamamoto: US fighter aircraft in planned raid, intercept Admiral Yamamoto?s plane over Bougainville and shoot its down, killing the Admiral. General Rules for Operation Vengeance Red Briefing USA Intelligence Intercept IJN coded message wich state that Adm Yamamoto will fly a inspection tour at Bouganville airfields in 18th April 1943, In order to avenge dec/07, US GHQ decided intercept that flight and eliminate the Japanese Navy great leadership. To do this the USGHQ sent the follow orders: 12 P38 will depart from Port Moresby (Henderson field at original) at 06:00h* (clearance to fly) to intercept and destroy Admiral's plane. 6 planes will play a attackers role and have the mission to intercept Admiral's Betty. The 6 other planes will provide a high scort for attack group at 4000mts and only can dive if attack force were engaged by Admiral's scort. We do NOT know exact route that will be taken by the enemy group when it reaches Bougainville, we just know that the Admiral will land at one field (F18, F19 or F21) PRIOR to land at Buin (F20). The group must find and destroy Admiral's plane before it land at Buin. After mission planes must reach mission return fields (F3, F4 or F5) Group Leader is in charge of the tactical details of attack operation as well to define positions/roles of the involved pilots. *TabajaraHost will run at Real Time at this event. Gold Briefing At 06:20h (real time from clearance time) The Admiral Yamamoto and his officers will depart from Rabaul to a inspection tour at Bougainville airfields. The inspection group must NOT fly over 1000mts, in order to not cause discomfort to its VIPs passengers. The Admiral will choose an airfield to land before get Buin (F20). In scort of Admiral will be assigned 9 scort fighters, and at Torokina (F19) and Buin (F20) will be in alert 3 fighters in each field, ready to roll ONLY at first sight of enemy forces, if needed. The Admiral is in charge to overall operation, and must choose the fields visited. The scort leader is in charge to choose tactical details of scort operation as well to define positions/roles of the involved pilots.
