its just an idea. it came to me yesterday. its pretty simple. this could be the rules: - the track should be no longer than 60 seconds. - each pilot can post no more then 3 tracks per ToD, with a brief description of why he/she ( ) thinks the track is worth watching. - the track of the month could be chosen in poll on the forum, by all of us (earlier reducing the whole number of tracks down to 10 best) - the main prize could be... posting the track on FH mainpage for download, as the Kill Of The TOD, or somethng. I would sure like to watch some crazy kills or exceptionall piloting skills, just for fun. WHat do u all think ?
One problem..... Some of us don't have web sites to be able to post the tracks, and AFAIK the FH forum does not allow for posting of tracks. regards, Oz
therefore blue must make a mailbox and web-place, because that one who invented usually undertakes it. this case as an arbiter
good idea ozmale6t9: not everyone have to take part in contest and there are always free wwwservers (i use one of them); but ofcourse if anyone would have 5mb (60 seconds of a track i very small file) on some ftp then it would be very nice im with u blue;
hmm and there could be a various of rankings... most lucky kill, most impossible, most stupid .... whatever we can imagine... ...depends of number of tracks sent
I'm with you guys!!!! I do have one question though: how do you edit those tracks? If you record an entire mission, you'll have 10 minutes of "Footage", which is some 50 mb's I guess? How to cut out the "good parts"?
AFAIK you have to use the .record command again while watching the track. In this way you can start recording close before action starts and with .stop you can end recording direct after the kill. Seille
Don't worry sebbo, we knew it all along and made allowances. Like the idea of the contest but did you have to suggest it just as my PC at home dies and I've got to spend the next few days trying to piece it back together Mal
2 sebbo: A practical way to do this "edits" is making an alias, or keyboard short cut ( I did a ctrl R to .record and ctrl S to . stop ) so you can extract only the points of the track you need in a very simple way!
k, ppedott, and what will be the names of extracted, recorded parts then ? random ? anyways, ill try to arrange some webspace and post a few tracks of mine for a start as soon as i have some worth watching.
cool, but why only 60 sec? can't be 121? Here's mine, not a kill of the month but in spectacular scenery and after a cool fight for sure! http://www.angelfire.com/hero/stec/109g2vsspit9.trk
rgr that blue, but, w/ a window monitoring the trk files, after exit WB he easy can watch wich file was created most recently (pressing F5 key)... that is the interesting part of trk! so he can rename it as... lets see... 109e4 x spit vibora.trk btw. I did .record vibora- and I get: vibora-12.34.56.trk btw2 very nice idea! to choose best trks!
After some time, make a poll on these tracks. I will post a winner track in News, Announcements & Information Forum. That can became a regular practice.
Heres my contribution Very short 2 minuters track. Kill of a Li2 from very close distance then a Spitfire 10 seconds later. download 38k
hmmm i think there should be only tracks with one kill allowed - we shouldnt make the contest: 'as many kills in one min as possible' (and if we will post tracks with more then one kills it can happen) but 'best kill', so pls post only one kill tracks;
oh and i think it would be good idea to name the tracks with callsing_aircraftXaircraft.trk; it would help later when poll is started;
