for all who want to change from windows os to an easy to use linux based os there is an free offer from ex-"lindows", now "linspire" producers.

itґs no ad from me but all who simply want to get familiar with linux they get an easy os with linspire.

click http://www.linspire.com/btorder , then above click "apply coupon" and enter "lindows" as coupon code, press update, then continue - you see itґs free then.

the .iso you can download via bittorrent at
    http://tracker.linspire.com/torrents/linspire-full-4.5.393.torrent

then simply burn from the iso to disk and install it :)

itґs pretty cool and as easy as windows but safe and stable like linux

i can only say that most plug and play adapters like usb a.s.o are supported.

i habe an usb-dsl modem from acer that is not working , allthough the hardware is recognized, it canґt connect because an ethernet card isґnt found (u donґt need one for usb modems :))

i canґt say if your modem is working - is it analog ?

there is a compatibility list onlin where you can search your hardware and see if it is compatible :

    http://www.linspire.com/lindows_hwsw_compatibility.php

    good luck

by the way - linspire download is around 550 mb :( but itґs it worth i think
