its off topic, but have to post it here in international forum.

i think, everyone knows about the crash of the two planes in southern germany. a russian (bashkirian) tupolev 154 with 69 people in (more than 50 of them were teens) collided with an american boeng 757 (transporter, two pilots) in about 11,5 km height. nobody survived.

i am sad with the dependents of the victims, especially with the parents of the killed russian kids.... all my fellow-feel.

i have to work at the crash-zone and i have to search the victims. its hard, damned hard and sometimes i just wanna cry.

i am very sad and i have no fun playing wb in this times........

First of all, Salute! Thomba for performing such an honorable job...

I can see how doing this is so hard. I was talking about this with my parents; they were talking about the crash, and I told them that I knew of someone that was working on it. I think it's one of the hardest and most terrible things that you can do... the sadness, the horror.... That's why, at the same time, it takes a great man to help the community is such a way.

How did you get involved in this job?

May their souls rest in peace

    And, thank you :shuffle:

cc thomba, it was a tragety that could have been avoided. and i salute you for the job that you must do. but maybe you can find the reason why this tragic event took place and hopefully others will learn and this won't happen again. :(

It's awful what happened, I just hope such events will not occur in the future, they've got to fix that buggy system :(

And my deepest and most heartfelt condoleances go out to the victims and the family and closest ones of this crash.

It must be very hard for you Thom to work in such a disastrous terrain, I've read something about the rescuers that work in these terrains and under those conditions in Eos, don't know if you know that, a jointly Dutch/Belgian managed scientific magazine, they showed the difficulty and the horror of it in a very touching way....

    greetz, Zembla

    Condolences

This is about as close to the ultimate tragedy, as can be.
Kids that are to fly into vacation as a reward and then catastrophe strikes.

My deepest regards and condolences to the families of all victims.

Thomba I guess you are a member of Police or THW, if you have to do this work. I don't want to even imagine what it is like to do this, especially since kids are involved - I just can say that I would break for sure.
Thank you and keep up your work as long as you can.

    <S!>

    Rainer

PS: If you're Police, try to protect the relatives from the Journalists. I don't need to see their grief up close and the last thing they need, is some idiotic journalists chasing them.

yepp, i am police-officer and came just right back from the crash-zone. we searched the victims again....2 bodies are still missing. tomorrow morning the horror will be continued :(

the most terrible moment of the job is, when the bodies (or the parts) become faces: finding the baggage, some personal things, the cricumstances of the crash, a toothbrush, new bathing clothe...i found a porcelain-cup with some teddy-bears on it which felt down from 11,5 km and it was intact....

about the estimated cause of the tragedy:
the anti-collision-warning-system of the swiss tower was deaktivated in order to update the software, the swiss pilot in the tower told the russian tupolev-pilot too late, that he have to sink and after the tupolev-pilot took a lower alt, the boeng anti-crash-sytem told the boeng-pilot to go on lower alt, too. the second swiss tower-pilot was away to take a break...

THX for all your posts. the psychologists told us, that i will help, if we talk about.

Thank YOU thomba, for relating this to us. It's an honor to 'know' someone like you...

And if you ever need to talk about it (or anything else), I'm open for it. I try to listen the best that I can... I know what it's like to need someone to talk to and you can't find anyone. Post here or send me a private message if that's what you (or anyone) wants.

This accident shows how important it is to be extremely careful in everything you do (especially if your job involves the lives of so many people). Aircraft in general are dangerous because of the so many ways that you can have an accident. So please, everyone be careful (since I know we are all airplane enthusiasts... I plan to engage in a career as a pilot [i'm only 17])

    Thanks again, thomba

    i feel with you :(

2 days ago, we were warned of some people who will try to enter the crash-zone. i stopped one of them in his car. 2 young guys were sitting in and had something in the car....coffee !!!!

these 2 young guys drove 4 days around the crash-zone and gave coffee for free to all the people, which had to work there !!!!

    wtg, a big wtg.

but i cant stop the guy, which offers parts of the plane-wrecks via internet  , yepp, you can buy them

my job is done, got some free days and i have to relax...trying to delete the pictures, smells, noises...
